A great theme park vacation usually comes down to more than rides and attractions. Sometimes it’s a Team Member who helps a lost family find their way, surprises a child with a memorable interaction, or simply offers exceptional service during a busy day. Universal Orlando Resort is making it easier to recognize those moments with a new feature now available in its official app.

Called “#UOFistBump,” the new tool lets guests submit a message recognizing Team Members who make a positive impression during their visit. The feature gives visitors another way to show appreciation beyond a simple thank you before heading home.
Finding the Feature Is Simple
Guests can locate the new option by opening the Universal Orlando app and scrolling to the bottom of the main page. Under the “Helpful Tools” section, they’ll find “#UOFistBump.”
After selecting it, guests can fill out a short form with their own information, the Team Member’s name, where the interaction happened, and a message describing why they deserve recognition. Once completed, the message is sent directly through the app.
The process only takes a few minutes, making it easy to recognize outstanding service while the experience is still fresh.
Guest Service Has Always Been Part of the Experience
While visitors spend most of their vacation enjoying attractions, shows, restaurants, and entertainment, Team Members play a major role in making those experiences enjoyable.
Whether they’re helping guests board attractions, answering questions, keeping restaurants running efficiently, or assisting families with special requests, employees are constantly interacting with thousands of visitors every day.

Most of those interactions happen without much attention, even though they can completely change someone’s vacation.
A friendly conversation after a stressful moment or an employee willing to go the extra mile can easily become one of the memories guests talk about long after returning home.
Disney Has Used a Similar Idea
Universal isn’t the first major theme park resort to encourage this type of guest recognition.
Disney has long offered its Cast Compliment program, allowing guests to recognize Cast Members directly through the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps. Many Disney regulars make it a point to submit compliments whenever an employee goes above and beyond.

Now Universal guests have a comparable option that puts employee recognition just a few taps away.
As the competition between Disney and Universal continues to grow, both companies have continued looking for ways to improve the overall guest experience. Sometimes those improvements come in the form of major attractions, while other times they involve smaller additions that encourage positive interactions throughout the resort.
A Welcome Addition to the Universal App
The Universal Orlando app already serves as an important planning tool for guests. Visitors use it to check attraction wait times, view maps, order food, and navigate the resort.
Adding the new Fist Bump feature expands the app even further by giving guests an opportunity to recognize the people who help make their vacations special.

It may not be the biggest update Universal has introduced this year, but it’s one that shines a light on the employees working behind the scenes every day. For guests looking to thank someone who made their trip a little better, the new feature offers an easy way to make sure that appreciation doesn’t go unnoticed.
