If there’s one thing Star Wars: Visions has never been afraid to do, it’s ignoring the rulebook.
From anime-inspired storytelling to entirely original Jedi mythology, the anthology has become the corner of the franchise where Lucasfilm can experiment without worrying about established canon. Now, the studio has taken another unexpected leap—and fans are loving it.
The latest trailer for Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi features Paramore’s “Let the Flames Begin,” a music choice that instantly stands apart from virtually every official Star Wars trailer that came before it. Watch it below:

For decades, the franchise has been inseparable from sweeping orchestral scores, lightsaber duels, and John Williams’ iconic themes. That musical identity has become just as recognizable as Darth Vader or the Millennium Falcon, making Lucasfilm’s latest decision feel genuinely surprising.
Fortunately, there may not be a better project to try something different.
The Ninth Jedi first debuted as one of the most celebrated episodes of Star Wars: Visions in 2021, introducing Lah Kara and a completely original story set far beyond the Skywalker Saga. Following the recent short “Child of Hope,” the story has now grown into a full Disney+ series that continues Lah Kara’s journey as surviving Jedi attempt to rebuild after the Sith’s downfall.
Because the series sits outside official Star Wars continuity, Lucasfilm isn’t bound by the same creative expectations as its live-action films and television shows. That’s exactly what has made Visions such an exciting showcase over the last several years, giving filmmakers the freedom to explore new storytelling styles, animation techniques, and now even unexpected trailer music.
Fans wasted no time celebrating the surprise.
“A Paramore song in an official Star Wars trailer? We live in the best timeline,” one comment beneath the official trailer reads.
Another viewer wrote, “Didn’t have Paramore x Star Wars on my bingo card for today, but I’m here for it!”
Even Paramore’s official music video on the platform has quickly filled with Star Wars fans who discovered the song through the trailer.
Whether the track appears in the finished series is still unknown, but Lucasfilm has already proven once again that Visions remains the franchise’s best place to take creative swings.
