Sleeping Beauty Castle No Longer Visible at Disneyland, Disassembly Underway
The anniversary tribute that has greeted guests in the Disneyland Resort esplanade for over a year has now completely disappeared behind construction walls, and the disassembly process is moving faster than many guests anticipated.
The Sleeping Beauty Castle Sculpture Is Gone From View
On Thursday, WDWNT reported that the Sleeping Beauty Castle sculpture installed for Disneyland Resort’s 70th anniversary celebration has been fully concealed behind the teal-blue construction walls erected earlier this week. The outlet shared a photo of the construction site, showing nothing but the barriers where the colorful structure once stood. What had been partially visible just days ago — including some of the towers, roof elements, and stained-glass details — has now disappeared entirely, with whatever remains of the structure hidden behind the walls as disassembly continues.
The sculpture spent more than a year in the esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park as one of the centerpieces of the Disneyland70 celebration. It featured five towers, each inspired by one of Disneyland Park’s original lands — Fantasyland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland, Frontierland, and Main Street, U.S.A. — along with colorful stained-glass detailing throughout.
A silhouette of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse holding hands was also part of the original installation, though Disneyland Resort replaced that element partway through the celebration after viral social media posts pointed out that the shape of Walt Disney’s hat made the figure look more like President Donald Trump than the park’s founder.
The Celebration Continues Without It
The disappearance of the castle sculpture doesn’t signal the end of Disneyland70. The broader anniversary celebration runs through August 9, 2026, with limited-time entertainment, merchandise, and offerings still available across both parks in the final weeks of the festivities. Paint the Night and the Wondrous Journeys nighttime spectacular have been extended through August 20, 2026.
