Paramount’s Huge TMNT Expansion Could Lead to Universal Studios Attraction
Universal Studios has already proven that some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world can become even bigger when they jump from screens into immersive theme park experiences.
Now, as the company prepares its upcoming Universal United Kingdom Resort, one unlikely franchise could be a perfect fit for the new destination: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Although TMNT has dominated movies, television, video games, and merchandise for almost 40 years, the heroes in a half-shell have never had a major permanent theme park attraction.

That’s surprising considering how recognizable Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo remain across multiple generations of fans.
The closest the franchise has come was during the height of “Turtle-mania” in the early 1990s, when guests at Disney World’s then-Disney-MGM Studios could meet the Ninja Turtles through street entertainment experiences on New York Street between 1990 and 1995.
However, unlike properties such as Jurassic World, Harry Potter, or Nintendo, TMNT has never found a long-term home inside a major theme park.
That could potentially change as Paramount continues to expand the franchise.

TMNT Is Becoming Bigger Than Ever
The studio recently launched the first-ever TMNT-themed pizzeria in Los Angeles, with additional locations planned for Monterrey, Mexico, and SĂ£o Paulo. Paramount has also announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Live on Stage!, a new 2027 production celebrating the 40th anniversary of the original 1987 animated series.
The renewed focus on the classic cartoon series is particularly interesting, as the 1987 incarnation remains one of the most beloved versions of the franchise.
A theme park attraction based around that era could offer Universal something different: a nostalgic family experience combining comedy, action, and a colorful world that instantly appeals to children and adults who grew up with the Turtles.

Universal United Kingdom Resort, which is scheduled to open in Bedfordshire in 2031, has yet to reveal its complete lineup of themed lands and attractions.
There’s also no indication that Universal and Paramount are discussing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles attraction. Still, as Paramount continues pushing the franchise into new areas, the timing could eventually make sense.
A TMNT ride or immersive land would not only introduce the Turtles to a new generation but could also give longtime fans the chance to finally experience one of the biggest franchises of the 1980s and 1990s in a theme park setting. For now, fans will have to keep their shells crossed.
