This Disney Character is Abandoning Tables at an Expensive Orlando Restaurant
If you’ve got a Crystal Palace reservation coming up, here’s a change worth knowing about before you go. Winnie the Pooh, the star of the whole experience, is currently not making his usual rounds through the dining rooms.
Don’t panic though, you can still meet him. Things just work a little differently right now.
What Changed at This Character Dining
Normally at Crystal Palace, Pooh and his Hundred-Acre Wood friends parade through the dining rooms during your meal, stopping at each table for photos and autographs. That table-to-table setup is basically the whole appeal of character dining, and it’s a big part of why these meals cost what they do.
Right now, Pooh has stepped out of that rotation. Instead of coming to your table, he’s stationed in the atrium near the front of the restaurant, right in front of the topiary of himself in the center of the room. Guests dining at Crystal Palace can line up during their meal to grab photos with him there.
The good news is that his friends are still doing their normal table visits through the dining rooms, so the rest of the character experience is running like usual.
Why Is This Happening?
Honestly, nobody knows for sure. Disney hasn’t given an official explanation, so anything at this point is guesswork. It could have been a call from the entertainment team over safety concerns, which Disney sometimes adjusts quietly without announcements. It could also be a restaurant operations decision to help with flow, since character rotations through packed dining rooms can slow things down and create congestion during busy meal times.
Whatever the reason, there’s also no confirmation on whether this is temporary or permanent. There’s a real chance Pooh returns to his table rounds soon, so this might all be a non-issue by the time your trip rolls around.
Should You Cancel Your Reservation?
Short answer: no. You can still meet Pooh during your meal, the rest of the characters are still visiting tables, and the buffet experience itself hasn’t changed at all.
Plus, remember that Crystal Palace has a cancellation policy. The credit card you booked with gets charged a per-person fee for no-shows or late cancellations, so canceling over something that might be resolved before your visit would be an expensive overreaction.
A Quick Refresher on Crystal Palace Character Dining
For anyone who hasn’t been, Crystal Palace is the character buffet on Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom, designed to look like a Victorian greenhouse with tons of natural light, topiaries, and views of Cinderella Castle. Pooh and friends appear at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The buffet covers American favorites made in the onstage kitchen, with breakfast pastries and traditional morning fare early in the day, then carved meats, pastas, salads, and desserts like warm cobbler and soft-serve for lunch and dinner.
Price-wise, breakfast runs $35 to $59.99 per adult, and lunch and dinner both come in over $60 per adult before tax and gratuity. Disney also suggests planning around 90 minutes to meet all the available characters.

The Takeaway
Keep your reservation, find Pooh at his atrium spot by the topiary, and cross your fingers that the silly old bear gets back to his table rounds soon. We’ll keep an eye out for any updates on whether this change sticks around.
