U.S. Military Headed to Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT, Disney Confirms
The 250th anniversary of July 4 is getting a fitting sendoff at Walt Disney World Resort. Here’s what Disney Parks fans need to know before heading to the Most Magical Place on Earth on Saturday.
A Flyover Confirmed for July 4

Walt Disney World Resort has officially confirmed that the U.S. Air Force Reserve’s 920th Rescue Wing will fly over both Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT on July 4, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m., weather permitting. The aircraft will launch from Patrick Space Force Base in Florida before passing over the two theme parks in what promises to be one of the most striking moments of the resort’s semiquincentennial celebration.
It won’t be the first time military aircraft have appeared in the skies above Walt Disney World Resort. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and U.S. Navy Blue Angels have both made past appearances at the Central Florida Disney parks. Most recently, six of the Thunderbirds’ F-16 Fighting Falcons flew over EPCOT and Magic Kingdom Park on October 30, 2023, ahead of National Veterans and Military Families Month.
Before that, on July 4, 2023, a KC-135 Stratotanker from the 91st Air Refueling Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base joined four F-35 Lightning II aircraft from the 33rd Fighter Wing at Eglin Air Force Base for a Magic Kingdom Park flyover honoring 100 years of aerial refueling.
Magic Kingdom’s Full Holiday Lineup

Magic Kingdom Park is centering its Fourth of July programming around a three-night run of “Disney’s Celebrate America! — A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky,” a 360-degree nighttime fireworks spectacular above Cinderella Castle running July 3, 4, and 5.
Beyond the big show, guests can look forward to the Flag Retreat ceremonies, the Electrical Water Pageant on the Seven Seas Lagoon, and themed performances from the Dapper Dans and Main Street Philharmonic. Patriotic decorations are already in place along Main Street, U.S.A.
EPCOT’s America’s Birthday Celebrations

EPCOT is leaning into the 250th anniversary with a lineup that stretches from morning to night. The Soarin’ Across America overlay — featuring a new film, new scents, and a fresh musical arrangement by original composer Bruce Broughton — is already running on the flight simulator attraction.
On July 3, 4, and 5, a special “Heartbeat of Freedom” fireworks grand finale will follow the Luminous The Symphony of Us nighttime spectacular. Spaceship Earth will be bathed in patriotic lighting on those evenings, and the Voices of Liberty will perform additional sets in the American Adventure World Showcase Pavilion.

The Portraits of Courage exhibit, featuring veterans’ portraits painted by former President George W. Bush, has been extended through the holiday weekend and remains on display in the American Adventure Pavilion.
Disney Springs Celebrates Too
Guests spending part of their Fourth of July weekend at Disney Springs will find festive decorations throughout the district, along with live performances by the United States Air Force Band of the West on July 3 and 4.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Disney Springs will not offer dedicated Fourth of July fireworks; guests hoping to see holiday fireworks should direct their evening to Magic Kingdom Park or EPCOT.
Both parks are expected to hit capacity early on July 4, so arriving as close to opening as possible is strongly recommended. Current park hours are available on the Walt Disney World Resort website and through the My Disney Experience app.
