Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Will Cease Operations at 8:00 p.m. On Tuesday

Guests heading to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay on Tuesday evening need to adjust their plans. The theme park is closing two hours ahead of schedule due to inclement weather forecasts in Central Florida.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay made the news official through its Instagram account on Tuesday, posting a story with the following statement:

“Due to inclement weather, Busch Gardens will be closing tonight at 8:00 p.m. We hope to see you soon!”

The early closure cuts the day short by two hours — the park typically stays open until 10:00 p.m. on weekdays. United Parks & Resorts updated the official park calendar on its website to reflect the 8:00 p.m. closing time, and meteorologists are forecasting severe heat and thunderstorms for the Tampa area as the evening progresses.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay’s Weather-or-Not Assurance program covers situations exactly like this one — when inclement weather forces an early park shutdown, when attractions are closed for more than 60 minutes, or when the heat index climbs to 110 degrees or above, guests can receive admission for a future return visit. Claims can be submitted through Guest Services before leaving or via the park’s official online form after the visit is complete.

The Week Ahead at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Tuesday’s early closure is a one-night disruption. The park is scheduled to reopen at its standard time of 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, with normal operating hours resuming through the rest of the week. The Summer Nights seasonal event continues, and the Fourth of July weekend brings the Wild Skies Drone and Fireworks Spectacular, set for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Starting July 6, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will shift to reduced operating hours, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, closing at 10:00 p.m. on most Fridays and Saturdays.
