The Halloween season at Disneyland Resort is fast-approaching and, with it, comes a temporary retheme of two lands at Disney California Adventure Park: Cars Land and Avengers Campus. Here’s what’s coming to the Southern California Disney park.
Monsters After Dark Is Back
Disney Parks Blog confirmed on Tuesday that Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark will return to Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park as part of Halloween Time 2026, which runs from August 21 through October 31. The overlay transforms Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! each afternoon during the Halloween season, casting guests as unlikely allies to Rocket Raccoon in a race to distract the monsters that have broken loose inside the Collector’s Fortress, with Groot’s safety hanging in the balance.
Cars Land Transforms Into Radiator Screams
Cars Land is returning to its Radiator Screams identity for 2026, dressing the Pixar land’s automobile residents in “car-stumes,” scattering “car-achnids” throughout the area, and setting up a “pump-kin” patch for good measure. Two attraction overlays make their return as well — Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween — alongside the nightly “Sha-BOO” experience, which transforms the land after dark with flickering neon lights and an eerie seasonal soundtrack.
The Season at a Glance
Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort officially begins August 21 and runs through October 31, 2026. Plaza de la Familia, the Día de los Muertos celebration at Disney California Adventure Park, extends for a few more days through November 2. Oogie Boogie Bash — the after-hours Halloween party that sells out well in advance every year — also returns this season on August 18, with tickets going on sale June 18.
