Nobody Expected Magic Kingdom’s Most Sold-Out Snack to Show Up at a Disney Hotel

Magic Kingdom’s cheeseburger spring rolls have one of the most devoted followings of any snack at Walt Disney World, and until this week, the only way to get them was with a park ticket and enough patience to stand in a line that regularly wraps toward the Cinderella Castle hub before selling out by late afternoon.

That changed quietly and without any major announcement. Cheeseburger Spring Rolls are now available at Backstretch Pool Bar at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, and it is the first time the beloved Magic Kingdom snack has ever been available at a Walt Disney World Resort property.

The Snack Details

The price is $9.49 for two spring rolls, consistent with theme park snack pricing and reasonable for what you get. The recipe is completely unchanged from the Magic Kingdom version, including the dipping sauce, which is the most important detail for anyone who has been eating these in Adventureland and is wondering whether the resort version represents any compromise on what makes them worth the effort.

The spring rolls at Backstretch Pool Bar appear to be warmed to order, giving them a freshness advantage over the theme park version, where items may have been sitting for some time, depending on how recently a batch was prepared. For a fried item, the difference is noticeable and worth appreciating.

No park ticket is required. No dining reservation is needed. Access to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort is all it takes.

Why the Magic Kingdom Version Is So Hard to Get

The Spring Roll Cart at Magic Kingdom typically opens around 11 a.m. and sells out somewhere between 4 and 5 p.m., depending on attendance and demand. There is no mobile ordering, so every guest who wants spring rolls is standing in a physical line. The cart has also recently joined Walt Disney World’s growing list of cashless payment locations. None of these factors has reduced the demand. The line remains consistent, and the cart sells out reliably every day the park is open.

For guests who wanted cheeseburger spring rolls on a day when a full Magic Kingdom visit was not in the plan, there was previously no option. The Saratoga Springs arrival changes that entirely.

The Pattern Worth Noticing

This is the second time in recent weeks that a beloved Magic Kingdom snack has migrated to a resort location without a park ticket requirement. The churro Mickey waffles, previously exclusive to Crystal Palace’s character dining at Magic Kingdom, recently arrived at Spyglass Grill at Caribbean Beach Resort for $11.49 for adults and $7.99 for kids. That move generated significant attention from the Disney food community for the same reason this one will.

Two fan favorite Magic Kingdom snacks are now available at resort hotels in the same month. Whether this is a deliberate strategy or a series of individual menu decisions that share a pattern is unclear, but the result for guests is the same. More access. No park ticket. Same food.
