Another Universal Orlando Lawsuit Emerges Over Alleged Guest Injury

Universal Orlando Resort is facing another guest injury lawsuit.

The legal complaint centers on an alleged incident near the moving walkways connecting Universal CityWalk to the resort parking garages. The area serves as one of the busiest entry and exit points for guests visiting Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and the newest park, Epic Universe, which is accessible via bus.

According to court filings submitted on May 8, plaintiff Heather Hall claims she was injured during a visit to the resort on May 11, 2024.

Guest Claims Crowd Created ā€œDangerousā€ Situation

The lawsuit alleges Hall fell after crowds were allowed to gather on one of the moving walkways near the CityWalk exit area.

The conditions are described in the complaint as an “overcrowded and dangerous” situation.

The lawsuit names Comcast Corp. alongside several Universal-related entities, including NBCUniversal Media, LLC, Universal City Development Partners, Ltd., and Universal City Studios LLC.

The complaint alleges the defendants failed to properly maintain the area, supervise employees, and warn guests about the alleged hazard.

Court filings also state the dangerous conditions ā€œwere not apparentā€ to Hall before the alleged incident occurred.

According to the complaint, the defendants either knew or should have known about the alleged conditions before the fall.

Hall is seeking damages exceeding $50,000.

The lawsuit cites alleged bodily injury, pain and suffering, disability, mental anguish, medical expenses, lost earnings, and loss of future earning capacity.

A separate derivative claim filed by Hall’s husband, John Hall, alleges loss of companionship and support connected to the incident.

Universal Orlando Resort has not publicly commented on the case.

Similar Complaints Have Been Filed Against Universal Orlando

The CityWalk moving walkways have appeared in legal complaints before.

Another lawsuit filed in 2024 involved Broward County couple Susan and Wayne Moonsie, who alleged they were injured while using one of the walkways during an April 2022 visit to Universal Orlando Resort.

According to that complaint, the walkway allegedly came to a ā€œsudden and unexpected complete stopā€ while guests were riding toward the resort entrance.

The lawsuit claimed the abrupt stop caused guests to shake violently.

Attorneys alleged Universal failed to properly inspect and maintain the walkway system.

The Moonsies sought damages tied to alleged injuries, pain and suffering, medical expenses, and loss of income.

Universal Orlando Resort has also faced legal action involving attractions across the property.

Earlier this year, twin brothers filed lawsuits tied to alleged injuries aboard Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry after the attraction allegedly stopped abruptly during operation.

The complaints alleged the riders suffered back, neck, and other injuries after being thrown in their seats.

Epic Universe also faced scrutiny following the September 2025 death of Kevin Rodriguez Zavala aboard Stardust Racers.

His family later filed suit against the park with representation from civil rights attorney Ben Crump.

That case was later closed and ruled an accidental death, with Rodriguez Zavala’s family and Universal reaching an “amicable resolution.”
