Demand Surge Pushes Disney World Park to Early Sellout

We are posting this tonight specifically because we know some of you are going to wake up tomorrow, grab your lightsaber, head to Hollywood Studios, and find out at the gate that you cannot get in before 2 PM.

Do not let that happen.

Hollywood Studios is sold out of park reservations for May 4th, 2026. Annual Passholders without a reservation cannot enter the park before 2 PM tomorrow. After 2 PM, you can get in without a reservation. Before 2 PM, you cannot. Standard ticket holders and Disney Resort hotel guests who snagged reservations will be inside from park open at full capacity. Passholders who did not plan ahead have a narrower path and need to know what it is before tomorrow morning.

That is the situation. Now let us talk about everything else happening tomorrow because May the 4th at Hollywood Studios is a genuinely special day and the food lineup alone is worth planning your visit around.

What Is Actually Happening at the Park Tomorrow

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge turns into something different on May 4th every year. The land draws motivated, prepared, costumed Star Wars fans who have been counting down to this specific date, and the energy inside the park on Star Wars Day is unlike anything Hollywood Studios experiences on any other day of the calendar. If you have never been for May the 4th and you are wondering what the big deal is, the answer is that it is the closest thing the parks have to a fan convention inside a theme park. Everyone around you is there for the same reason. It is genuinely electric.

Now, the food. And as a food-focused site we have been looking forward to talking about this.

Disney has confirmed 11 special Star Wars snacks just for May the 4th and the lineup is excellent. Let us go through the highlights.

Pink Milk is back at the Milk Stand. It is a plant-based rice milk blend with sweet, fruity characteristics and if you have not tried it on a previous May the 4th, it is one of those Galaxy’s Edge items that sounds odd and tastes genuinely good.

Oga’s Cantina is serving the Kamino Cooler in a DJ R-3X Souvenir Mug. The drink itself is Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Bols Blue Curacao Liqueur, passion fruit syrup, Dole Pineapple Juice, and lime juice. The mug is the kind of collectible that sells fast and disappears. If Oga’s is on your list tomorrow, get there early.

The Ettel Nuts are available at beverage carts around Galaxy’s Edge. Sweet, spicy, and queso fundido with chocolate candy rocks. This is the kind of snack that sounds like it should not work and absolutely does.

And the one we are most excited about: the Your Chosen Path Cupcake at Backlot Express. Cookies-and-cream cupcake with marshmallow buttercream and a white chocolate X-Wing on top. The X-Wing conceals a secret lightsaber color inside, which means every cupcake is a reveal. That is a genuinely fun concept and exactly the kind of thing Disney does well with limited-time offerings.

Beyond the food, exclusive merchandise lands tomorrow including the Salvaged Protocol Droid Bucket, a Bantha Sipper, a DJ R-3X Mug, and a Jabba’s Sail Barge Bucket. Disney also transformed the Vacation Fun theater into a dedicated Star Wars Day merchandise experience, so exclusive items will be in multiple locations across the park at the same time. That spread of merchandise locations means guests moving around the whole park rather than just staying in Galaxy’s Edge, which adds to the crowd load everywhere.

The Passholder Situation and What to Do About It

If you have a reservation: you are good. Show up early. The early morning window is when you make your best progress on the food and merchandise before lines build to their peak.

If you do not have a reservation: you have two real options.

Option one is the park-hop. Start your day at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, or Animal Kingdom, all of which will be noticeably more relaxed tomorrow because the Star Wars crowd is concentrating at Hollywood Studios. Spend your morning there and hop to Hollywood Studios after 2 PM. You miss the early morning window but you still get the food, the merchandise, and the Galaxy’s Edge atmosphere.

Option two is to skip tomorrow and pick a different Hollywood Studios day. Most of the exclusive merchandise has some availability window beyond just the 4th, and the park experience without the May 4th crowd density is a different kind of day. If the crowds are your main concern, this is the honest answer.

One thing worth saying directly: walking into Hollywood Studios at 2 PM on May the 4th means walking into a park that has been at full capacity for hours. The lines for the food items we just described will be at their peak. The merchandise will be partially depleted. The wait times for Rise of the Resistance and Smugglers Run will be long. It is still worth going if the atmosphere is what you are after. Just go in knowing what the afternoon version of this day looks like.

For Guests Who Are Not Star Wars People

If you are at Walt Disney World tomorrow and May the 4th has no particular significance for you, the best information we can give you is this: avoid Hollywood Studios and enjoy one of the best version of the other three parks you will ever experience on a Monday.

Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Animal Kingdom are all pulling the benefit of the Star Wars crowd concentrating at Studios. Wait times will be lower than a typical Monday. The parks will feel more breathable. It is one of those counterintuitive Disney planning situations where something that looks like bad news for one park is genuinely good news for the other three.

If EPCOT is your destination tomorrow and you are here for the food, the Flower and Garden Festival is still running and the outdoor kitchen booths are in full swing. A day at EPCOT tomorrow with the festival going and lighter than usual crowds is an excellent day by any measure.

Check your My Disney Experience app tonight and confirm your reservation status before you go to sleep. If you are good, great. If you are not, make the park-hop decision now while you can still plan it properly rather than sorting it out in the Hollywood Studios parking lot tomorrow morning. We will be at the park covering the food tomorrow and we will have full takes on everything worth ordering as soon as we can get them out.
