Disney Confirms Fantasmic! Change That Will Keep Guests in Parks Longer
If you’ve been to Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently, you probably noticed how much the park revolves around its nighttime schedule. And now, one of its biggest anchors—Fantasmic!—is shifting in a way that could quietly reshape your entire evening.

Starting April 24, 2026, the show is officially moving to a later time. What had been an 8:30 p.m. performance is now pushed to 9:00 p.m., and that small adjustment carries more weight than you might expect. Suddenly, everything from dinner timing to your last Lightning Lane selection has to be reconsidered.
For a lot of guests, Fantasmic! acts as the natural endpoint of the day. You ride a few final attractions, grab a snack, and settle into the amphitheater. That rhythm worked well with an earlier showtime. But now, there’s more time to fill—and that changes how people move through the park.
On select nights, Disney is adding a second showing at 10:30 p.m., but that’s only happening on Fridays and Saturdays through early May. That extra option can ease crowd pressure, especially for guests who don’t want to line up an hour in advance for the first show. But once that window closes, most nights will likely go back to a single performance.

There’s also another adjustment already on the calendar. Beginning June 14, the show shifts again, this time to 9:05 p.m. It’s a minor change, but it shows Disney is continuing to fine-tune the timing. And on June 18, Fantasmic! won’t run at all due to a private event closing the park early.
So what does all of this actually mean for guests?
For one, expect later nights. If you’re planning to watch Fantasmic!, you’re likely staying in the park longer than you would have a few months ago. That could be a positive if you like a slower evening pace or want to catch nighttime rides with slightly shorter waits. But it can also be a challenge for families with younger kids or anyone trying to get an early start the next morning.
It also puts more pressure on seating. When there’s only one showing, that amphitheater fills up quickly. A later showtime doesn’t reduce demand—it just shifts when that demand hits.

At the same time, this could open up new strategy opportunities. Some guests may skip the first wave of crowds and take advantage of shorter wait times elsewhere, especially if a second showtime is available. Others might use the extra time to spread out dining plans instead of rushing.
In the end, this isn’t just a simple schedule tweak. It’s a change that affects how the entire evening unfolds at Hollywood Studios. And if Fantasmic! is part of your plans, it’s worth adjusting your approach before you arrive.
