‘Batman’ Reboot Releasing This Year Confirms Hero Lineup
There’s plenty of upcoming Dark Knight content for fans to look forward to.
From the multi-film adaptation of the Batman: Knightfall comic books to The Batman – Part II (2027) continuing Robert Pattinson’s brooding saga, and The Brave and the Bold (TBA) set to build upon the newly established DC Universe under James Gunn and Peter Safran, Bruce Wayne’s legacy shows no sign of slowing down.
Each project has offered its own take on Gotham, yet they all circle back to the same truth: Batman thrives in a world populated by allies, enemies, and unforgettable stories.

Enter LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight (2026), TT Games’ upcoming third-person action-adventure video game, which takes the 87-year-long history of the Caped Crusader and compresses it into a playful yet expansive open-world playground.
Gotham City is fully realized in LEGO bricks, with the game inviting players to experience classic locations like Arkham Asylum, Ace Chemicals, and Wayne Manor — each packed with puzzles, crime-fighting opportunities, and hidden secrets.
Watch the official trailer for the game below:
The centerpiece of the game is its Bat-Family roster. Players can suit up as Bruce Wayne/Batman in multiple iconic costumes, Commissioner Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, Selina Kyle/Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul.
Each character comes with distinct abilities and gadgets, allowing for unique approaches to combat, traversal, and puzzle-solving. These aren’t cameos— every playable hero contributes meaningfully to the open-world gameplay.

Of course, no Gotham story is complete without its rogues. Iconic villains such as the Joker, Bane, and Penguin will also appear, alongside fan-favorite allies like Alfred Pennyworth, creating a fully realized LEGO cityscape that celebrates Batman’s long cinematic, comic, and television history.
Players can also expect playful nods to classic film moments, from Jack Nicholson’s museum heist (Batman, 1989) to Heath Ledger’s Clown Prince of Gotham chaos (The Dark Knight, 2008), all reimagined in LEGO form.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is developed by TT Games and published by Warner Bros. Games, starring Shai Matheson as Bruce Wayne and Matt Berry (The IT Crowd) as Bane. The game launches May 22, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 release planned later in the year.
