Elderly Woman Doused With Coffee at Magic Kingdom, Leading To Arrest
An elderly wheelchair user had iced coffee thrown in her face aboard the Magic Kingdom ferry on February 28, resulting in the arrest of a 34-year-old woman on enhanced battery charges.
Amanda Pinheiro Muir was taken into custody after the 1:00 p.m. incident on a ferry traveling from the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) to Magic Kingdom Park, according to Orange County Sheriff’s Office documents.
Confrontation on the Magic Kingdom Ferry

The victim, Linda, told deputies she and her husband, James, remained seated on a bench waiting for crowds to clear before exiting. Using a wheelchair, Linda wanted to avoid the rush at the disembarkation point. She warned passing guests to watch her feet and asked her husband to help prevent people from stepping on them.
Pinheiro Muir reportedly responded: “I could just punch you in the face.”

Linda said she “laughed off” the comment. Pinheiro Muir then “threw her iced coffee directly into Linda’s face and onto her body.”
Disney cast members confirmed security footage captured Pinheiro Muir throwing the drink. Linda requested assistance from Walt Disney World Resort security and law enforcement.
Suspect’s Explanation

Deputies interviewed Pinheiro Muir at the Magic Kingdom security office. She admitted to throwing the drink, but claimed Linda “was saying mean things about her son on the ferry.”
