Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets Begins Appearing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
The first physical evidence of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets materialized at Disney’s Hollywood Studios less than 24 hours after the Aerosmith version of the attraction closed on March 1.
Two pressed-penny machines offering eight Muppets-themed designs now sit in the courtyard near the shuttered attraction, despite Walt Disney World Resort stating the rethemed ride won’t open until summer 2026.
Muppets Return to Hollywood Studios

Walt Disney World Resort announced the Muppets Mayhem-inspired Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster retheme in late 2024, months before closing Muppet*Vision 3D and the entire Muppets Courtyard last summer to make way for a Monsters, Inc. (2001) land with a “door coaster.”
Disney promised to preserve Muppet*Vision 3D, one of Jim Henson’s final projects. The company recently revealed the attraction was filmed for at-home VR headsets.
Pressed Pennies Appear Immediately

The courtyard remains open for guests accessing Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After at the Sunset Showcase theater, which performs multiple times daily.
Eight Character Designs Available

The designs feature the updated Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster logo and “Under Construction 2026” on caution tape with eight characters: Fozzie Bear, Bean Bunny, Sweetums, Swedish Chef, Gonzo, Sam Eagle, Beaker, and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew. From @ErikAndAmerica:

The machines appear to be the same ones from the closed “Rock This Way” gift shop attached to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. Each penny costs $1 (the machine provides copper discs). Cash or credit card is accepted; credit purchases incur a $4 fee for all four designs at each machine.
Digital Map Already Updated

The My Disney Experience app’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios map already displays “Future Home of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets” at the attraction’s location.
Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t commented publicly on the pressed-penny machines. The designs will likely remain available only until the rethemed Disney’s Hollywood Studios attraction opens in summer 2026.
