Disney World guests have gotten used to hearing about refurbishments lately, but this one is going to hit a specific group of visitors especially hard: anyone staying at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.
In just one week, one of Yacht Club’s most popular dining spots is going dark, and it won’t be back for a long time.

Crew’s Cup Lounge, the small but beloved lounge tucked inside the resort, is scheduled to close beginning February 23. That alone would already be frustrating for guests who planned to relax there after a park day, but the bigger issue is what happens next.
Because Yacht Club isn’t just losing one restaurant.
It’s losing two.
Crew’s Cup is expected to stay closed until around May, meaning it will be unavailable through spring break season, festival crowds at EPCOT, and the start of early summer travel. For a resort that’s known for being a peaceful deluxe escape, losing a cozy lounge for months changes the entire feel of the stay.
The lounge has always been a reliable backup plan for guests who didn’t want to fight crowds at Disney Springs or deal with long waits at EPCOT restaurants. It’s also the kind of place people stumble into and immediately decide they want to return again the next night.

But now, guests staying at Yacht Club during this stretch will have to adjust. Instead of staying close to their resort, they’ll be forced to walk elsewhere for that easy, relaxing dinner option—something that can feel like a bigger inconvenience than it sounds after a 20,000-step day in the parks.
And just when the lounge finally reopens, Yacht Club guests will take another hit. Yachtsman Steakhouse is expected to close next, with an estimated reopening later in the summer.

So essentially, Yacht Club guests are watching the resort’s dining lineup disappear one piece at a time.
That’s a major blow for a deluxe resort stay. People don’t book Yacht Club just because it’s pretty. They book it because it’s convenient, high-end, and gives you that “everything is right here” feeling.
For the next few months, that won’t really be the case.
