Hollywood Studios May Hit Its Worst Crowds of the Year on These 2026 Dates

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is one of those parks that feels exciting the second you walk in… but it can also become the fastest park to overwhelm you if you show up on the wrong day.

And in 2026, there are several dates and time frames that could easily turn Hollywood Studios into the worst park to visit all year.

This isn’t just about long lines. Hollywood Studios has a specific problem that makes crowds hit harder here than almost anywhere else at Walt Disney World. The park is packed with headline attractions, but it doesn’t have the same breathing room as EPCOT or the same number of rides as Magic Kingdom.

So when the crowds surge, Hollywood Studios doesn’t just feel busy.

It feels trapped.

If you’re planning a Disney World trip this year, here are the days that could completely throw off your Hollywood Studios plans.

Spring Break Weeks Bring the Most Unpredictable Crowd Surges

Spring Break is one of those times where Disney World can feel like it’s operating at maximum capacity for weeks at a time.

And Hollywood Studios tends to get hit especially hard.

Families are out of school, college students are traveling, and guests who want to “do it all” show up early and stay late. That means ride wait times start climbing immediately and never really come down.

Slinky Dog Dash is usually one of the first rides to spike into extreme wait territory, and Rise of the Resistance isn’t far behind. Even the shows and dining locations feel packed during this season, which makes the entire park feel like it’s running out of space.

If you’re hoping for a calm Hollywood Studios day, Spring Break season is not the time to gamble.

March 1 Could Feel Like a Full-Blown Fan Event

Hollywood Studios has plenty of busy days, but March 1 has the potential to turn into something much worse because of what it represents.

This date is expected to be the final operating day of Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and Disney fans do not play around when it comes to “last chance” attraction days.

Guests will likely line up early and stay committed all day. The wait time could stretch into extreme territory, and Sunset Boulevard could become one of the most congested areas in the park.

Even worse, if the coaster experiences any delays, it could create a domino effect that pushes crowds toward Tower of Terror and other nearby attractions.

March 1 has all the ingredients for a day that feels chaotic from the second the gates open.

May 4 Turns Galaxy’s Edge Into a Crowd Magnet

If you’ve ever heard “May the Fourth be with you,” then you already know May 4 isn’t a normal Disney day.

Hollywood Studios becomes a Star Wars celebration hub, and Galaxy’s Edge turns into the most crowded place in the park. Rise of the Resistance can pull some of the longest waits of the year, and Smugglers Run stays slammed from morning to night.

Even if you’re not a Star Wars fan, the crowd surge impacts the entire park because so many guests flock to the same area at once.

If you’re trying to tour Hollywood Studios efficiently, May 4 is the day that can destroy your strategy fast.

Jollywood Nights Can Cut Your Day Short Without Warning

Holiday party days can be frustrating at any Disney park, but at Hollywood Studios, they can feel especially rough.

That’s because Jollywood Nights typically comes with early park closures, which means regular ticket holders lose hours of park time.

And Hollywood Studios is not a park you want to rush.

This is where people rely on nighttime hours to knock out major rides, especially after the daytime crowd rush settles down. Losing that time can make the park feel like a half-day experience, but with full-day crowd levels.

New Year’s Eve Still Brings the Chaos

New Year’s Eve may not be as intense at Hollywood Studios as it is at EPCOT, but it still pulls heavy crowds.

Guests looking for a “less insane” place to ring in the new year often choose Hollywood Studios, which means the park becomes packed anyway. Wait times rise, walkways get clogged, and the park becomes harder to navigate the later it gets.

If you want a relaxed experience, this is not the day.

The Bottom Line

Hollywood Studios is an amazing park, but in 2026, it’s also the easiest park to visit at the wrong time. Spring Break, major fan dates, and holiday events can all push this park into an uncomfortable level of crowded. If you can avoid these timeframes, you’ll likely have a much better day.
