Epic ‘Star Wars’ Project Finally Delivers Total Immersion and True Freedom for Fans
A fan project called Star Wars Genesis is turning heads by offering the kind of expansive, immersive faraway galaxy experience that official Lucasfilm projects have failed to deliver.
Created by DeityVengy, Genesis is a total conversion mod for Starfield. It gives players an entire galaxy to explore, fully customizable starships, planetary missions, and freedom to carve their own stories — a sandbox approach fans felt was missing from the official open-world game Star Wars Outlaws.
Now, the game has been given a major update. Watch DeityVengy’s new video below to find out about all the new features and enhancements:
The project draws immediate comparisons to Outlaws, which was released in 2024.
Though ambitious, the Ubisoft title struggled to make its galaxy feel alive, leaving players stuck with repetitive missions and star systems that often felt empty. It also has a fixed protagonist, meaning there’s no character creation, something Star Wars Genesis delivers.
Outside the world of gaming, Disney’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel also promised full immersion. However, scripted interactions and tight schedules created the sense of being on a set rather than living the adventure. And then there was the staggering cost, with the two-night hotel experience’s price tags being unaffordable to the average guest.
Genesis, by contrast, lets players write their own narratives in a living, breathing galaxy.

Using Starfield’s engine, the Genesis mod has been expanding steadily, adding new planets, ships, and more, all of which successfully capture the sense of wonder and danger that made the original Star Wars films unforgettable.
While unofficial, Star Wars Genesis is already being celebrated as a fan-made answer to the franchise’s recent misfires — an open-world, immersive playground that Outlaws couldn’t fully deliver and Galactic Starcruiser couldn’t sustain.
For fans frustrated by the limitations of official Lucasfilm projects, it may be the closest thing yet to the ultimate Star Wars experience.
