“Spring” Eggs? Disney World Erases “Easter” Name From Holiday

Walt Disney World Resort is stripping “Easter” from merchandise packaging this year, relabeling obviously holiday-themed products as “spring” items instead.

The terminology shift surfaced when a new Monorail pull-back toy began selling at EPCOT and other park shops. Despite featuring giant bunny ears and a vinyl sticker showing Mickey and Minnie Mouse hunting decorated eggs, the box markets it simply as a “spring” toy. No Easter reference appears anywhere on the packaging.

WDWNT posted a photo of the item on Facebook, highlighting the conspicuous omission. The toy costs $14.99 plus tax and qualifies for several discounts.

Easter Activities at Walt Disney World Resort

The labeling change doesn’t extend to actual park programming. Walt Disney World Resort is expected to schedule Easter celebrations across its Central Florida theme parks and resort hotels, maintaining traditions that date back decades.

Magic Kingdom Park hosts Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny for character meet-and-greets before the holiday. The park also presents a special pre-parade exclusively on Easter Sunday. Walt Disney World hasn’t published the 2026 schedule yet, though these offerings typically appear in late March through early April.

EPCOT sells an Easter egg scavenger hunt where guests search for decorative egg sculptures hidden around World Showcase. Participants exchange completed maps for small prizes. The activity has become a staple of the park’s Easter experience.

Disney Resort hotels display elaborate handcrafted chocolate eggs inspired by Disney films, Pixar properties, and theme park attractions. These artistic pieces serve as photo opportunities for guests staying on property during the Easter season.

Restaurants across Walt Disney World Resort offer limited-time Easter menu items, including themed food, drinks, popcorn buckets, and collectible sipper cups. These seasonal products generally launch in late March and continue through Easter weekend.

Unlike Halloween and Christmas, which receive dedicated after-hours events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Easter doesn’t warrant separate ticketed programming. However, the holiday still generates significant attendance, particularly when it coincides with spring break travel.

Future Branding Strategy?

The Monorail toy follows earlier Easter merchandise releases at the Central Florida Disney parks, including themed T-shirts and plush items. It’s unclear whether future Easter products will adopt the same religiously neutral branding or if Disney will continue using the holiday name on some items. The company hasn’t issued statements explaining the terminology shift or outlining any broader merchandising policy changes.

Easter falls on April 5, 2026. The holiday typically draws heavy crowds to Walt Disney World Resort as families combine spring break vacations with Easter celebrations.
