No Longer for Sale: Disneyland Tickets Pulled From Shelves

Costco shoppers hunting for Disneyland Resort bargains hit a brick wall this week when warehouse employees informed them the theme park tickets were no longer available for purchase. The discount packages disappeared from both physical shelves and online ordering systems, marking the end of a partnership between Disneyland Resort and the bulk retailer that had lasted barely two months.

January 4 Marks Abrupt Cutoff

Reddit user u/mccooey17 experienced the frustration firsthand when attempting to buy discounted Disneyland Resort tickets this week. The customer’s online order attempt failed when the purchasing page suddenly went dead. A trip to the local Costco warehouse provided answers but no tickets.

“Disney pulled the 2-day tickets from Costco,” the disappointed shopper posted on Reddit. “I went to purchase online and the page went dead. I drove to my local Costco and they said as of last night (1/4) Disney ordered all tickets be pulled and can no longer be sold. I called another Costco to confirm, same thing.”

Disneyland Resort reportedly issued direct orders to Costco requiring the immediate removal of all remaining ticket packages from warehouse locations nationwide. Associates at multiple stores confirmed receiving the directive, leaving customers who waited too long out of luck.

The Disneyland Tickets That Disappeared

Costco and Disneyland Resort unveiled the partnership in November, offering two-day Park Hopper tickets for $389.99. The package provided entry to both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park beginning January 8, 2026, with ticket expiration set for June or 13 days after first use, whichever came first. Lightning Lane Multi Pass came bundled in the price.

Travel industry journalist Scott Gustin documented the promotion on X (formerly known as Twitter):

NEW: Costco has revealed its latest Disneyland ticket deal. The $389.99 2-day Park Hopper includes Lightning Lane Multi Pass and is valid starting Jan. 8, 2026. Ticket expires 13 days after first use or on June 12, 2026. Park reservations required.

The offering paled in comparison to Costco’s previous Disneyland Resort deal, which sold for $449.99 but delivered significantly more value—a three-day Park Hopper, Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and a $30 Disney Dining card. Despite the diminished benefits, thousands of guests took advantage of the November promotion to reduce costs on their California theme park trips.

Limited Time Meant Very Limited

Disneyland Resort and Costco deliberately avoided specifying an exact end date when launching the ticket package, using only the phrase “limited time” to describe availability. That ambiguous language came back to haunt customers who assumed they had weeks or months to make purchasing decisions.

Multiple Reddit users debated whether Costco provided adequate warning about the promotion’s conclusion. Some claimed their local warehouses advertised the approaching deadline, while others described the removal as shocking and unexpected.

Reddit user u/Terrible_Salt7906 spotted clues on Costco’s website:

“I was shopping in Costcos website and saw a banner advertising ‘last day to purchase 2 day tickets.’ I assumed it was just the last day of the promotion, but the stores you called made it sound like a last minute surprise.”

A Costco employee using the handle u/Beeblebrox66 contradicted claims that the deadline caught anyone by surprise:

“I saw an internal email atleast 2-3 weeks ago reminding us about the end date for sale. It was always a limited time deal, thats why every warehouse was (supposed to be) pushing it hard by the entrance through the holidays.”
