Disney World Guest Falls on Wet Pool Surface, Sues for $50,000

Walt Disney World Resort faces a $50,000 lawsuit from a guest who slipped near a swimming pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village. The plaintiff alleges Disney neglected to maintain safe premises at the Deluxe Resort hotel, leading to her March 2025 fall on what she describes as a wet poolside surface.

December 2025 brought legal action from Luisa Hanfling, a Broward County, Florida resident, against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Her complaint filed in the Florida Circuit Court in Orange County details falling on “a wet substance, believed to be water, near the edge of the Samawati Springs Pool” on March 9, 2025, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village.

As a self-identified business invitee, Hanfling contends that Disney failed to provide a “reasonably safe premise” and “knew or should have known about” dangerous pool area conditions. Her lawsuit characterizes the fall as occurring “suddenly and without warning.”

Hanfling’s case represents the second $50,000 lawsuit filed against Walt Disney World Resort in recent weeks. Kentucky resident Rhonda Smith also sued Walt Disney Parks and Resorts after falling on the trolley tracks on Main Street, U.S.A., at Magic Kingdom Park. Smith’s complaint also alleges permanent physical and mental injuries from Walt Disney World Resort’s alleged failure to maintain safe conditions.
