The Muppets May Have Just Hinted at Disney World Ride Seasonal Overlay
The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) has never lost its holiday magic. And you can find it almost everywhere these days — on Disney+, in live-orchestra screenings across U.K. venues, and, most recently, in the form of collectibles like plush and pin advent calendars.
Now, one of the film’s many iconic musical numbers has been given a unique spin: pop-punk rockers Fall Out Boy have released a high-energy cover of the film’s beloved song “It Feels Like Christmas,” adding electric guitar and drums to the classic melody.

But while it’s likely nothing more than a fun Christmas cover, it could mean something big for Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.
Earlier this year, fans were forced to bid farewell to Muppet*Vision 3D, as the whole of the Grand Avenue area is being replaced with a new Monsters, Inc.-themed land. Fortunately, Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is being rethemed with the Muppets in 2026.
The current version will remain open through 2025 before being closed ready for the overhaul, which will see the Electric Mayhem band take over ready for a summer launch. So, while the Muppets are replacing Aerosmith, the rock theme isn’t going anywhere.
But could Fall Out Boy’s new cover hint at a Muppet Christmas Carol seasonal overlay?

Neither Disney nor the Muppet team have even remotely hinted at the song’s use on-ride or any holiday version of the attraction. But the timing makes it hard to dismiss, as does the fact that the Fall Out Boy release aligns perfectly with the rock aesthetic of the ride.
For now, it’s but a Christmas wish. But if Fall Out Boy’s “It Feels Like Christmas” does signal something much bigger, then Muppets fans—especially fans of The Muppet Christmas Carol—will soon forget all about the defunct theater show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
