Halloween at Walt Disney World Resort took an unexpected turn for some EPCOT guests when an issue aboard a beloved classic attraction led to an evacuation.
According to a post by TikTok user Wallandwfhatdisney, visitors aboard the Living with the Land attraction in EPCOT’s World Nature neighborhood experienced a surprising moment when one of the boats began taking on water.
The video, which has received nearly 30,000 views, shows the vessel tilting to one side as riders waited for assistance. The caption reads, “Current situation. Boat in front of me started to sink and all occupants had to evacuate. We ended up chilling in our boat until cast members escorted us off and out the back. And people say Living with the Land is boring!!”

Cast members promptly assisted guests in exiting safely, guiding them through the attraction’s backstage areas—an area most visitors never see.
Living with the Land, located inside The Land Pavilion, has been a staple of EPCOT since its opening in 1982. The slow-moving boat ride offers guests a fascinating glimpse into ecosystems, including rainforests and deserts, as well as working greenhouses where Disney scientists cultivate crops using hydroponic and aquaponic techniques. Many of these plants are even served in EPCOT restaurants, such as Garden Grill and Sunshine Seasons.
Although evacuations like this are rare, attraction breakdowns occasionally occur at large theme park resorts. Thanks to social media, moments like these are now shared instantly with audiences around the world.
This event comes just ahead of scheduled updates to Living with the Land. The Walt Disney World website notes that from November 28 to December 30, 2025, the attraction will temporarily close to prepare for Living with the Land–Glimmering Greenhouses, a limited-time seasonal experience.
Even after more than four decades, Living with the Land continues to celebrate EPCOT’s core vision—showcasing how science and creativity work together to shape a more sustainable future.
