Expensive New Year’s Eve Event Revealed at Magic Kingdom

Perched high atop the 15th floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, California Grill has long been a destination for guests seeking a meal that feels as special as the views. Overlooking Magic Kingdom and Seven Seas Lagoon, the restaurant’s setting combines an airy mid-century aesthetic with an open kitchen that hums with energy. For decades, it’s been the go-to spot for celebrating milestones—blending elegant cuisine, sweeping scenery, and a touch of Disney enchantment.

This year’s New Year’s Eve celebration promises to make the evening shine even brighter. Guests will enjoy a four-course menu crafted exclusively for the event, highlighting California market cuisine and dishes inspired by the restaurant’s 30-year culinary legacy. The evening begins with refined small plates, such as the American Wagyu Futomaki Roll, followed by a second course featuring BBQ European Quail, Norwegian Brown King Crab, and a velvety Sweet Potato & Nantucket Scallop Bisque.

Entrées highlight the chef’s artistry, from the 30-Day Dry-Age Snake River Farms Wagyu Filet to Butter-Poached Maine Lobster and the intricate Glacier 51 Toothfish Mosaic. The celebration concludes on a sweet note with desserts like the Chocolate Blossom, Muscovado Brown Sugar Crème Brûlée, and Celebration of Citrus.

Alongside the meal, guests can enjoy handcrafted cocktails such as the Black Truffle and Fig Old-Fashioned or Blueberry & Thyme Gin Smash. A live band provides smooth melodies throughout the evening, while Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse make special appearances for photo opportunities.

As the clock approaches midnight, diners are invited to step out onto the terrace to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks, synchronized to music from the park’s nighttime spectacular. Each seating concludes with a champagne toast for guests aged 21 and over.

Prices vary by night and seating: $229 per person on December 30, $299 for early New Year’s Eve, and $349 for late seating. While California Grill is among Walt Disney World’s most premium dining experiences, it continues to attract guests seeking unforgettable moments—and a view to match.

At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible.
