Disney Park Removes Entrance Signs Amid Massive Transformation, Ongoing Vacations Impacted

Guests arriving at Disneyland Paris Resort are witnessing a dramatic change as its second theme park undergoes a historic transformation. As Walt Disney Studios Park prepares to reopen with a new name in 2026, Disney cast members have removed original signage from the European Disney park.

Walt Disney Studios Park, which opened in 2002 as the second gate at Disneyland Paris Resort, was initially inspired by the art of filmmaking. However, the park never quite captured the same magic as its neighbor, earning mixed reactions and struggling financially in its early years. After The Walt Disney Company regained majority ownership of the European Disney destination, executives promised a bold reinvention. The plan called for immersive, story-driven areas rather than behind-the-scenes attractions, shifting the park’s focus toward popular Disney films and modern experiences.

That vision took shape with major announcements, including an entire land dedicated to Frozen (2013) and a new attraction inspired by The Lion King (1994). In 2024, Disney confirmed that the park would adopt a new name — Disney Adventure World — to reflect its refreshed identity. The change will officially coincide with the grand opening of the World of Frozen in 2026. The transformation began earlier this year with the debut of World Premiere, a completely redesigned entrance area replacing the former Front Lot.

This week, crews began dismantling one of the most iconic fixtures in the park’s history — the “Walt Disney Studios” lettering that spanned the entrance archway. On Sunday, X (formerly known as Twitter) user @PixiedustDLP shared photos revealing that the large “Walt Disney Studios” sign had been removed from the entrance gate of the European Disney Resort’s second theme park:

With the original letters gone, a dark outline remains visible across the archway’s light surface — a subtle reminder of the park’s two-decade legacy. A newly designed sign reading “Disney Adventure World” is expected to take its place in the coming months.

As construction continues at Walt Disney Studios Park, it has temporarily impacted some guest experiences. Visitors have reported blocked walkways and construction barriers as Disney accelerates preparations for the rebranding.

The renamed Disney Adventure World is set to debut in spring 2026, opening alongside the World of Frozen. Disneyland Paris Resort hasn’t announced a grand opening date for The Lion King-themed ride and surrounding area.
