Disney Drains Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, All Lightning Lane Reservations Indefinitely Canceled

On September 13, 2025, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure faced multiple unexpected and prolonged closures at Disneyland Resort. That morning, Disney cast members were seen draining the water from the log flume attraction after it failed to open alongside Disneyland Park, signaling technical difficulties. Hours after the ride finally reopened, it shut down again with several riders trapped on board, prompting all remaining Lightning Lane reservations to be canceled.

TikTok user @yourdisnerd shared their experience on social media, explaining how they received a notification from the Disneyland Resort app that their Lightning Lane reservation could no longer be honored. When they arrived at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure around 10:30 p.m., they found the ride closed, and several riders were trapped at the top of the ride’s iconic 50-foot drop.

“Now I know why I can’t do my Lightning Lane,” the guest said in the video. “Some poor people are stuck on Tiana’s ride.”

Earlier in the day, the Princess and the Frog (2009) ride had already been drained of water, which led many to speculate that the attraction was facing significant mechanical issues. The attraction reopened after the morning’s delay, but shortly after resuming operation, another malfunction occurred, trapping Disney Park guests on the ride’s drop well into the night.

As of the publication of this article on September 16, 2025, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was up and running again. However, it remains unclear what caused the repeated technical issues on Saturday, and whether Disney cast members managed to restart the log flume ride or eventually evacuated the trapped guests.

If you ever find yourself stuck on a broken Disney Park ride, remain seated and don’t tamper with safety restraints. Follow all instructions from Disney cast members–they’re working as quickly as possible to restart or evacuate the attraction.
