Guests Should Brace Themselves for EPCOT on July 22

The countdown is on at EPCOT, where a fan-favorite attraction is set to debut a thrilling reimagining. On July 22, 2025, Test Track presented by General Motors will officially relaunch with an all-new experience that pays tribute to EPCOT’s storied past while propelling guests into the future of transportation.

Longtime EPCOT fans will notice something very special about this refreshed attraction—it draws inspiration from World of Motion, the original pavilion experience that once stood in the same spot. This nod to the past underscores the park’s larger theme of discovery, combining nostalgia with bold innovation to create something entirely new.

Disney announced the changes at D23 Expo 2024, where Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro shared insight into the broader vision unfolding across Disney theme parks. “Imagineers dream, create, design and build these stories into real places,” D’Amaro said. “And we have Imagineers in place right now all around the world… Plans are drawn. Dirt is moving.”

And EPCOT’s transformation is moving at full speed. Earlier this year, during Women in Construction Week, fans were invited behind the scenes as Project Engineer Carleigh gave a tour through the construction zone, showcasing stripped-down queue areas and new structural updates. Not long after, Walt Disney Imagineering revealed the attraction’s new marquee signage, complete with sleek illuminated lettering—just a hint of what guests can expect inside.

The redesign is also the latest milestone in the creative partnership between Walt Disney Imagineering and General Motors, who together are crafting what Disney calls “an all-new storyline” for the attraction. As Disney Parks Blog put it, “Get ready to feel the thrill of the open road, the wind in your hair, and nothing but adventure ahead!”

Annual Passholders will get the first chance to explore the reimagined experience. Exclusive preview dates have been announced for July 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, and 19 (with July 17 notably excluded). Guests with valid EPCOT reservations and Annual Passes can join a virtual queue at 7:00 a.m., or try again at 1:00 p.m. without needing a park reservation. Details can be found in the My Disney Experience app.

Demand has been extraordinary. All reservations for July 13 were claimed quickly, and the 7:00 a.m. virtual queue filled in just three seconds, highlighting just how highly anticipated this opening truly is.

Once Test Track opens to the public on July 22, it will join the top tier of Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections, replacing Soarin’ Around the World. Guests will be able to choose one experience from the top tier and two from the lower group. Notably, there will be no virtual queue on opening day, just a traditional standby line and Lightning Lane access via the Multi Pass system.

Beyond EPCOT, change is sweeping the entire resort. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is temporarily closed, as groundwork begins for the expansive “Beyond Big Thunder” development. Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a Monsters, Inc.-themed land is now in early development, marking yet another immersive world on the horizon.

And with Universal’s Epic Universe now open nearby, Disney is leaning into its legacy—investing in storytelling, reinvention, and guest excitement. For Test Track, the road ahead is wide open.

So, whether you’re chasing thrills, memories, or both, this new version of Test Track is ready to take EPCOT guests on a journey like never before.
