Price Hike Alert! Disney Once Again Increases Cost by 20%

As EPCOT guests navigate the ongoing shifts at Walt Disney World Resort—from retired attractions to revitalized fan favorites—a quiet change has arrived just in time for Halloween: Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit returns this fall, bringing both early fun and an increase in cost.

The scavenger hunt will now begin on September 2, 2025, earlier than in any previous year, allowing guests to dive into the fall spirit weeks ahead of schedule. It’s part of a wider seasonal rollout that transforms the parks from Cool Kid Summer festivities to autumn enchantment, complete with pumpkin Mickeys, a refreshed Jack Skellington meet and greet, and new fall merchandise.

Families eager to enjoy this EPCOT-exclusive activity should note that the cost has gone up to $11.99 plus tax, $2 more than last year. Available while supplies last, the game boards and sticker sets can be purchased from Disney Traders, Creations Shop, festival markets, and other select stores.

Once the hunt begins, guests will search for Disney-themed pumpkins hidden throughout the park. Each discovery earns a sticker on your board. Even if you don’t complete the entire activity, you can still exchange your game board at Disney Traders, Gateway Gifts, Creations Shop, or World Traveler for a themed keepsake.

The price adjustment for Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit follows a familiar trend at Walt Disney World. The Remy’s Ratatouille Hide and Squeak Scavenger Hunt, part of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, has also seen a price increase—$4 more than its 2021 cost. These changes reflect broader resort-wide pricing strategies that include increases to admission, lodging, and services like Lightning Lane.

Guests planning to take part in the activity should be aware of the official terms and conditions outlined on the Walt Disney World website. According to Disney, “Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit is subject to cancellation or change without notice including—without limitation—dates and prices.” It also notes, “Game boards available while supplies last. Limit 5 game board purchases per Guest. One surprise per game board. Game board valid for redemption through November 22, 2025, or while supplies last.”

And that’s just the start of Halloween across the resort. Magic Kingdom will once again host Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on select evenings starting August 15, 2025, while additional fall-themed offerings will pop up at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney Springs.

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his… More »
