Disneyland Embarks on Recovery Efforts After Devastating Fire
Disneyland Resort has begun its recovery efforts after a fire broke out at the Pixar Pals Parking Structure last week, forcing the area to be temporarily closed for repairs.
On April 4, 2025, Disneyland Resort guests noticed thick smoke rising from the Pixar Pals Parking Structure. A video captured by X (formerly Twitter) user @Pawlaah shows the scene outside the parking garage:

The fire reportedly began on the fifth level of the Pixar Pals Parking Structure, in the Finding Nemo section, with three or four cars involved. While the exact cause of the fire remains unclear, the first vehicle to catch fire was identified as a Kia Sportage SUV.
First responders rushed to the scene, but early reports indicated that they faced some difficulty finding enough water to put out the blaze. Despite these challenges, the fire was eventually extinguished, but not before it left visible damage. Guests were not allowed to enter much of the Pixar Pals Parking Structure while the damage was assessed.
No injuries were reported, but the fire left behind a significant mess. Smoke damage lingered in the hours after the incident, with the affected section of the parking structure cordoned off by caution tape.
By Tuesday, Disneyland Resort had initiated repair work on the damaged area. WDWNT reported that construction walls now surround the impacted section of the parking structure. Bright orange traffic cones and caution tape mark the boundaries, ensuring no guests park near the affected area.
In addition to the construction walls, large industrial fans have been spotted near the edges of the parking structure, likely working to ventilate the lingering smoke and freshen up the area. Parts of the roof, floor, and support columns show signs of fire damage, with stains from the blaze clearly visible.
Fortunately, most of the Pixar Pals Parking Structure remains open to visitors, though the affected section is still blocked off as crews continue their repairs. Other parts of Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney were not impacted by the fire, so guests can still enjoy their visits to the Disney parks.
