Three Hours of Alarms Lead to Evacuation at Disney World Hotel

This week, thousands of guests were subjected to a fire alarm testing Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, part of the trio of All-Star Resorts at Walt Disney World Resort. Alarms started blaring around 9:30 a.m. and continued for up to three hours, significantly disrupting the experience of those staying at the Central Florida Disney Resort.

Like all hotels, Disney’s All-Star Resorts have stringent fire safety protocols. While the alarms can be annoying, they serve a critical purpose—ensuring that the fire safety systems are in optimal condition. Regular fire alarms and drills are essential to keeping guests safe.

Disney typically schedules these activities during the day when most families visit Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney Springs. This approach minimizes the disruption to guests, allowing them to enjoy their time at Walt Disney World Resort.

The advance notice allowed guests at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort to make informed choices about their day. Some opted to stay in their rooms, while others planned their outings to coincide with the alarm tests.

It’s unclear if Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort and Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort also performed fire alarm testing on Tuesday, October 23. All Disney Resort hotels have internal schedules for emergency system checkups.
