Disney World Guest Screams, Demands Animal Kingdom Tigers Wake Up

A stand-up comedian is under fire for comments about visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is Walt Disney World Resort’s fourth theme park, following Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Opening with the tagline “not a zoo,” the Central Florida Disney park aims to blend the thrill of theme park attractions with the importance of conservation and the beauty of the natural world.

However, comedian Dan Altano wasn’t impressed with his family’s visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. The performer recently shared this clip from a bit about Walt Disney World Resort:

“Guess how much it is at Animal Kingdom for two adults and a kid for one day?” Altano began. “$750, which changed the entire tone of the day. My wife would be like, ‘What’d you think of that ride?’ I’m like, ‘It was good. It wasn’t $100 good.'”

The Disney Park guest recalled visiting the Maharajah Jungle Trek in the theme park’s Asia area, home to its only tigers. The tigers weren’t in their visible enclosure when the family arrived.

“We get to the tiger cage, and there’s no tiger,” Altano said. “The person working there goes, ‘Oh, the tiger’s sleeping.'”

The comedian wasn’t satisfied with that answer.

“I was like, ‘Oh, okay…wake him up!'” he continued. “For $750, I want a tiger to come out and do a perfect backflip. I want the tiger to reenact The Jungle Book with all of his animal friends in French. I want a bilingual tiger doing a backflip and reenacting The Jungle Book in French.”

Altano claimed he “was yelling so loud that [he] woke up the tiger.” They shared a moment he said was almost worth the Walt Disney World Resort admission cost.

“The tiger… locks eyes with me, we had a moment, we looked at each other,” he recalled. “I started feeling bad about how I was behaving in front of my family and strangers and half of the Animal Kingdom. I would say that that moment is worth$75, maybe…$80, tops.”

Disney Parks fans weren’t happy with Altano’s alleged behavior.

“As a current cast member that price is not accurate,” one commenter wrote. “Animal Kingdom is the cheapest park at $130-$160ish. Magic Kingdom is the most expensive park at $150-$180ish a day.”

“That’s bs,” said another. “Tickets are $120 a piece. It’s less than $400 for two adults and a child. And then it’s not even expensive inside. Food is average priced.”

But Altano stood by his account.

“I truly am speaking honestly,” he wrote. “We bought them on the spot with the park hopper because our free passes didn’t work. That was the price… It’s not the same all year round. I wouldn’t make up a price for a comedy bit.”

Some commenters empathized with his story.

“Family of 5 went to Magic Kingdom,” one comment read. “We got Genie Plus and memory maker(only on one) and it was over 1100$. Kids had a blast, made a bunch of memories, but probably never again.”

Are Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park tickets too expensive? Share your opinion with Disney Dining in the comments.
