Iconic Main Street, U.S.A. Area Cleared After “Drama” Hits Disney Park
There’s something undeniably magical about walking down Main Street, U.S.A., in Disneyland Park, where the vibrant atmosphere of parades, music, and excited guests set the tone for an enchanting day.
However, a recent incident briefly interrupted this idyllic scene, leaving many guests scratching their heads and wondering what had just happened.
“So yesterday I’m walking down Main Street into the park when a few security guards were escorting a group in full view the opposite way—leading OUT of the park,” one guest shared on social media. “The group of kids and adults was dressed as Guardians of the Galaxy—full body makeup, ‘Drax’ in no shirt, all the bells and whistles.”
As the costumed group made their way down Main Street, U.S.A., security temporarily cleared small sections of the area to facilitate their exit. Onlookers were confused, as it isn’t every day you see a fully decked-out Guardians of the Galaxy group being led out of Disneyland. Speculation soon began to swirl about why this seemingly harmless group was escorted out of the park.
The guest continued, “No idea what actually happened, but I’m curious if anyone here DOES know the details. My guess is they were there for Oogie Boogie Bash and went into Disneyland proper for full costume pics at Tomorrowland… and took photos with/for other guests.”
The key to this mystery likely lies in Disneyland’s strict costume policy. While Disney California Adventure’s Oogie Boogie Bash is an event where guests are encouraged to dress in full costume, Disneyland Park does not permit adult guests to wear costumes outside of special events. The group may have ventured into Disneyland for photos, violating the park’s policy and prompting security to intervene.
Although this unexpected event caught the attention of guests, it’s just a small moment in the larger picture of exciting developments happening at Disneyland. The park is undergoing significant changes, with new attractions and updates aimed at offering even more immersive experiences for visitors.
One of the most eagerly anticipated attractions is Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, set to open on November 15, 2024. This ride will replace Splash Mountain and take guests on a musical adventure inspired by The Princess and the Frog. Fans are excited to see how Disney will bring the vibrant world of New Orleans to life through this reimagined attraction.
In addition to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Star Wars fans have something special to look forward to. A new mission featuring Mando and Grogu from The Mandalorian will be added to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. This update is expected to breathe fresh excitement into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, giving guests a new reason to pilot the Millennium Falcon.
Across the way at Disney California Adventure, even more thrilling experiences are on the horizon. One of the most talked-about additions is an Avatar experience, set to bring the stunning world of Pandora to life in a boat ride similar to the ones found at Animal Kingdom in Florida. This new experience promises to immerse guests in the majestic beauty of the Na’vi’s world, offering a dynamic adventure that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
Fans of Coco can also rejoice, as Disney announced that the first-ever Coco attraction will be constructed in Disney California Adventure by 2026. This colorful and musical journey will take guests through the Land of the Dead, celebrating the vibrant culture and characters from the beloved Pixar film.
For Marvel enthusiasts, the expansion of Avengers Campus is another exciting development. Two new attractions—Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab—are in the works. Avengers Infinity Defense will immerse guests in an epic battle across different locations such as Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City, while Stark Flight Lab will offer a more interactive experience where guests join Tony Stark in test flights guided by robotic arms.
These developments mark a transformative time for Disneyland Resort, as the park continues to evolve and expand its offerings.
