Don’t Be That Disney Guest: Behaviors To Skip at the Parks

Disney vacations are a time for family fun, magical moments, and unforgettable experiences. However, in the excitement of your trip, it’s easy to slip into behaviors that can detract from your experience or that of others. To ensure everyone has a magical time, here are our best tips to avoid being “that guest” during your Disney Park vacation.

1. Stopping Abruptly in Walkways

Disney parks are bustling with guests moving from one attraction to another. Suddenly stopping in walkways can create congestion and potential hazards.

If you need to stop, move to the side of the path to allow others to pass freely. This simple action can make a massive difference in the flow of traffic and everyone’s experience.

2. Cutting Lines or Saving Spots

Disney’s wait times are usually spot-on. Cutting lines or attempting to save spots for others disrupts the system and causes frustration among fellow guests.

Always wait your turn and ensure your entire party is present before entering the queue. It’s all about making sure everyone has a fair and smooth experience.

3. Blocking Lightning Lane Queues

Lingering near Lightning Lane entrances can impede the flow of guests and cause confusion. To maintain the park’s efficiency, it’s important to keep clear of the area unless you’re entering the queue.

Stay mindful of where you’re standing to avoid unnecessary blockages in these high-traffic areas. Before walking up to the Lightning Lane entrance, be ready to scan your theme park ticket or MagicBand.

4. Talking Loudly During Shows or Rides

Excessive noise can disrupt others’ experiences during shows or rides. Disney Park attractions are all about immersion, and loud conversations can pull others out of the magic.

Keep your conversations at a respectful volume, especially in dark rides or during performances. Let others enjoy the experience as much as you do!

5. Bringing Wrapped Gifts into the Parks

Wrapped gifts can complicate security checks and may need to be unwrapped for inspection. To make your park entrance smoother, it’s best to bring gifts unwrapped.

6. Being Too Loud at Resort Hotels

Disney Resort hotels are places for guests to rest and recharge after a day of park adventures. Being excessively loud can disturb others trying to relax or sleep.

Keep noise levels down, especially during early morning or late evening hours. It’s all about creating a peaceful atmosphere for everyone to enjoy their time at the resort.

7. Hitting Other Guests With Your Backpack

Carrying backpacks is essential for many guests, but swinging them around carelessly can lead to accidental collisions.

Keep your backpack secure and be aware of your surroundings. A little consideration can help avoid frustrating or hurting other guests.

8. Not Following Disney Cast Members’ Instructions

Cast members are there to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests. Ignoring their instructions can lead to safety issues, delays, or unnecessary confusion.
