8 Ways to Get Your Prince Fix at Walt Disney World

No, I’m not referring to The Purple One. While Walt Disney World is very princess heavy, if you are looking to get your Prince fix you can find it here too. Whether you have a fan of Princes, a little Prince, or maybe you are looking for your Disney #mancrushmonday, here are the top 8 ways to have a Princely time at Walt Disney World.

8. The Knight Package at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

When I think of makeovers at Walt Disney World for kids I most often think of the Princess Makeovers at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, or the Pirate Makeovers at the Pirate’s League.  I often forget that Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique offers a Knight makeover package for your little prince.  This is particularly perfect if you are dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table where the boys in your party get treated like Princes.  While this package is more Knight than Prince, it still fits the bill if your son wants a “Royal” look.  The basic Knight Package includes hairstyle with gel, confetti, and a sword & shield.  The Deluxe Package includes all of that plus a Prince Costume.

7. Meet Aladdin

With all of the hype over the new Live Action Aladdin film, this Prince is a hot ticket item.  Aladdin is available in Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom for meet & greets if you would like his autograph or a photo.  And sometimes, you’ll find Aladdin and Jasmine riding the first spin on the Magic Carpets in Adventureland.

6. Festival of Fantasy Parade

The Magic Kingdom’s afternoon parade, Festival of Fantasy, is my favorite of all of the versions of this parade.  And here you will find nearly all of the Princes accompanying their Princesses on themed parade segments.  The music, costuming, and choreography for Festival of Fantasy is, well fantastic.  My favorite part may be Prince Philip battling through the briars ahead of the Maleficent float in the Sleeping Beauty portion of the parade.  Of course, there is also Flynn Rider with his smolder swinging around on the Tangled section.

5. Disney’s Hollywood Studios Shows

Stage shows are a big part of the entertainment and attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and while we tend to think of them as Princess-y, all three of the live action Princess stage shows also feature the Princes (or would-be Princes).  Beauty and the Beast is a beautiful show that features the Beast and the Prince.  This is one that I recommend seeing if you are able to fit it into your schedule.  The Voyage of the Little Mermaid includes puppetry, lasers, and live action to retell the story of the Little Mermaid (one of my personal favorites), and here you can find Prince Eric with Ariel.  My favorite of the Princess shows at Hollywood Studios is Frozen Ever After.  This hilarious show highlights the hilarious storytelling of Arendelle’s Historians, but you also get a chance to see Kristoff live on stage (talk about #mcm).  Be sure to pick up a times guide as you enter the park so you can schedule accordingly to see all of the shows you want.

4. Be Our Guest Dinner

Dinner service at Be Our Guest in the Magic Kingdom is the only time the host, the Beast, meets guests in his Castle.  Though schedules can change, he is there most nights taking photos with guests in a separate room (rather than rotating through tables like other character meals).  If you want to meet the Beast this is a rare opportunity.

3. Fantasmic!

The nighttime Spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Fantasmic! is a fan favorite and features lots of Prince action.  There are a couple of scenes where Princes are featured—one in the middle of the show with you see a trio of floats featuring Belle dancing with the Beast, Prince Eric accompanying Ariel on her Mermaid Rock, and The Prince dancing with Snow White.  And for the finale when Steamboat Willie captains a boat full of characters out on to the water, you can see nearly every prince in the Disney Universe.

2. 1900 Park Fare, Dinner

One of my favorite character meals in 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian Resort.  For dinner the characters include Lady Tremaine with Anastasia and Drizella, along with Cinderella and Prince Charming.  The interaction with all of them is amazing, but especially with the Stepsisters and Lady Tremaine.  This is a rare opportunity to literally meet Prince Charming and have your photo taken with him.  Some afternoons around 3:30pm at the Grand Floridian you may also be able to catch the Princess Promenade where Cinderella descends the grand staircase with Prince Charming to dance in the lobby to the music of the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra.  This is a “magical moment” so it is not an officially scheduled activity.

1. Bon Voyage Breakfast

Trattoria al Forno at the Boarwalk offers the best opportunity to get your Prince fix at Walt Disney World with its Bon Voyage Breakfast.  This delicious meal is served at your table (so no buffets to worry about), and has great dishes themed to the characters attending the meal.  Although they are subject to change, the normally scheduled characters are Prince Eric and Ariel and Rapunzel and Flynn Rider.  Like 1900 Park Fare, this meal has great character interaction.  If you are familiar with the films there are lots of things you can talk to the characters about, or tell them about your great adventures.  And for getting photos with Eric or Flynn Rider, this is THE place. (cue the smolder)

What are you favorite ways to get your Prince fix at Walt Disney World?

Sarah Chapman

I am a long time Disney fan since I was hooked on Walt Disney World with my first trip in 1987. Since that time I’ve tried experiencing everything I can in the parks, with a total of 30 visits and counting (I’m always planning my next trip) to Walt Disney World—not to mention Disney Cruise Line and even (shhh!) Universal Orlando and Sea World. I’ve turned my Disney obsession into a profession helping others plan their magical vacations as a Dream Vacation Maker at LBAC Travel. I am a work at home mom to three wonderful boys, and each one… More »
