8 Things You’ll Love About Planet Hollywood at Walt Disney World

Ready for a night on the town in Disney Springs?  Look no further than Planet Hollywood!  Come here for the music, the food, the specialty drinks and, of course, the stars!  We know your restaurant choices at Disney Springs are numerous, so here are some things we’re sure you’ll love about Planet Hollywood to help make your dining decision easier.  Why not see if it makes the list for your next vacation?

1. Star-Studded Theming

If you’re not familiar with the theming of Planet Hollywood, think of it as a smorgasbord of Hollywood artifacts, props and costumes from your favorite movies (Tom Cruise’s jumpsuit from Top Gun, anyone??), music, and artwork – from retro favorites to contemporary hits.  The restaurant recently underwent a huge reimagining, and now in addition to the plethora of movie memorabilia, you’ll see a larger-than-life video wall where you can enjoy music videos in a state-of-the-art sound and media system.  Want to stand up and belt out the lyrics to your favorite rock song when it comes on?  Go right ahead – we bet you won’t be the only one!

2. Fantabulous Food

The menu at Disney Springs’ Planet Hollywood was recently tweaked and updated, so if you haven’t visited the restaurant in awhile, you really owe yourself a visit.  Celebrity chef Guy Fieri from the Food Network even jumped on board to create a special sandwich and burger menu specific to this site.  His goal?  To give you a burger you’ll talk about even after your vacation!  You might opt for the Original Ringer, with a crispy onion ring and super melty cheese, or maybe the Prime Time American Kobe, with kobe beef and cheddar.  Vegetarians will love Morgan’s Veggie burger, made of beans, chickpeas, oats and artichokes.  Did we mention the triple fries?  You’ll also find plenty of delicious starters that you can share, as well as steak, salads and pasta.

3. Desserts

Main courses are great and all, but if you’re all about the sweet finish to a meal (like us), you’ll love the desserts at Planet Hollywood.  We love the variety of choices – whether you want an uber-sweet Brownie Sundae Martini (with 12 brownie chunks!), a lighter treat of Banana or Key Lime Pie in a Jar, or the ooey, gooey fave Sticky Toffee Pudding, there’s something for every taste!  For a special treat, try the Planet Meltdown, and watch your chocolate globe disappear as it melts in front of your eyes, revealing delicious fudge cake!

4. Music

Let’s get one thing straight – Planet Hollywood is NOT a restaurant you should go to if you’re hoping for a quiet, peaceful evening.  But if you’re in a mood to party and want a fantastic soundtrack for your meal, this is the perfect spot!  You’ll dine to contemporary and classic tunes; your waitstaff may even sing along, and invite you to join in!  The music seems to be a hit with both adults and kids (based on the pre-dinner dancing going on!).  There’s a DJ present at night, who will ramp things up with top 40 hits.

5. Photo Ops

Portions at Disney Springs’ Planet Hollywood are absolutely huge, and food is arranged so fabulously, you’ll want to arrange a photo shoot once your food arrives!  Your burger, for example, might come with mac and cheese, onion straws, and bacon, making for a towering, tasty creation that dares you to take a bite.  The mason jar desserts allow you to sneak a glimpse of the delicious layers you’re about to eat, and even the milkshakes are works of art.  It’s all immanently Instagram-worthy, so click away!

6. Shop

If you are a Disney guest who was upset by the closure of the Planet Hollywood Super Store on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood Studios, fear not!  You can get your fill of Planet Hollywood merchandise here at the Disney Springs restaurant and retail location, before or after you dine.  There’s a ton to see and buy here, including drinkware, Planet Hollywood clothing for men, women and children, jewellery and accessories.  Looking to bring back a souvenir for the family dog?  The shop even has gifts for pets!

7. Stargazers Bar

To take your visit at Planet Hollywood to the next level, check out Stargazers Bar, the restaurant’s lounge.  We love the outdoor covered terrace where you’ll enjoy stunning views of Disney Springs while sampling the special menu of Florida craft brews, specialty cocktails, wine, and champagne.  There’s even live music every night!  When you’re finished with your signature drink, you can always take home the planet glass or comet glass as a souvenir.

8. Location

Disney Springs is a massive area, and after its renovation, it offers more restaurants than ever before.  Finding all of these restaurants, however, can occasionally be a bit of a challenge, even with helpful cast members and maps handy.  We’ve found ourselves wandering around in search of a hard-to-find shop more often than we’d care to admit.  Luckily, Planet Hollywood couldn’t be easier to find.  Just head to the heart of Disney Springs, Town Center, and once you’re there you can’t miss the giant dome of Planet Hollywood, across from the Coca-Cola Store.
