Every good voyage deserves a log. Not the kind with coordinates and wind speeds, just a simple record of what happens and when, kept in order so anyone planning a trip can follow along. And at Walt Disney World, one boat ride is about to have a very eventful season.

Rides at a theme park can change in small ways that guests only notice if they know to look. A new prop, a different joke, a familiar boat wearing a holiday outfit. The Jingle Cruise is one of those changes, and as of November 1, its full schedule is set. So here it is, entry by entry, from the first day of the schedule to the last, with a route guide at the end for anyone choosing a date.
The Schedule Lands
It’s November 3, and Walt Disney World is already in holiday mode. Disney has finalized the schedule for the Jingle Cruise, the holiday overlay on the Jungle Cruise in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom.
That finalized schedule gives us a start, an end, and a return date for the original ride. Everything in this log comes from those dates.
Monday, November 2: Last Call for the Original

This was the final day to experience the original Jungle Cruise before the holidays. If you’ve been meaning to ride it as it was, Monday, November 2, is the day.
After that, the original steps aside, and the holiday version takes over.
Tuesday, November 3: The Jingle Cruise Sets Sail
The Jingle Cruise returns to Magic Kingdom on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, a date Walt Disney World’s website had already confirmed.
Every year, the historic Jungle Cruise becomes a holiday-themed journey through the Amazon, Congo, Nile, and Mekong Rivers. The punny Skippers work the Most Wonderful Time of the Year into their scripts, and Imagineers install holiday props throughout the attraction and on its audio-animatronics.
The overlay operates during regular theme park hours. It also runs during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the special-ticketed event held on select nights in November and December.
Nine Weeks on the River
The overlay’s run is long enough to plan around. From November 3 through January 4, you get 63 days, which is exactly nine weeks if you count both days. Disney describes it as roughly nine weeks, and the arithmetic agrees.
That count is ours, not an official figure, and it’s only a way to picture how much time you have.
A Note in the Margin
A few words in this log carry weight. “Finalized” means the full schedule is now set. “Confirmed” refers to the dates on Walt Disney World’s website, including the November 3 start and the January 4 end. And “roughly nine weeks” is a round description of the run, which our own day count puts at exactly nine weeks.
Monday, January 4: The Last Day of the Overlay
Walt Disney World recently updated the Jingle Cruise webpage to confirm the end date. Monday, January 4, 2027, is the final day to experience the holiday overlay.
Tuesday, January 5: The Jungle Cruise Comes Back
Overnight, Imagineers will work their magic. When Magic Kingdom opens on Tuesday, January 5, 2027, the Jungle Cruise will be back in action.
Wednesday, January 6: The Holiday Season Ends
January 6, 2027, is the official end of the holiday season at Walt Disney World. That means the Jingle Cruise actually leaves two days before the season concludes, and the original ride returns on January 5, a day ahead of it.
Choose Your Own Route
Not sure which version you’ll catch? Here’s the simplest way to think about it.
If you’re visiting on or before Monday, November 2, you’ll be on the original Jungle Cruise. If you’re visiting between Tuesday, November 3, and Monday, January 4, you’ll be on the Jingle Cruise, and that includes the nights of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. If you’re visiting on Tuesday, January 5, or later, the original is back.
The edges matter. A visit on November 2 or January 5 puts you on the original, and a visit on November 3 or January 4 puts you on the holiday version. If your trip lands near an edge, double-check your date.
Before You Board

Here’s the whole season in one breath: the original Jungle Cruise runs through November 2, the Jingle Cruise runs from November 3 through January 4, and the original returns on January 5. The overlay runs for that whole stretch, and nothing in the schedule singles out one date as better than another, so your choice can follow whatever else is on your itinerary.
If you’re visiting for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the overlay runs during the event as well as during regular park hours. As always, confirm your date and event details before you go.
What Isn’t in the Log
We don’t have details on operating hours for specific days, whether any individual dates could change, or how queues and ride times will compare between the two versions. We’d rather tell you what’s missing than guess. Check Walt Disney World’s website and the My Disney Experience app for current information before your visit, since schedules can change.
