5 Things That You Will Love About ESPN Club

You don’t have to be a sports fan to enjoy ESPN Club. The food is delicious and filling, and the atmosphere is a whole lot of fun. Located on Disney’s BoardWalk, ESPN Club is a full service restaurant that does not take regular reservations. You can reserve VIP Premium Club Seats, which have an order requirement. If there’s a big game going on call 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463) to grab your spots, you can’t make VIP Premium Club Seat reservations online. The restaurant is popular, most nights there will be a wait. One word of warning, ESPN Club is loud. If you’re looking for a romantic dinner, consider Flying Fish Cafe instead. Here are five things that you will love about ESPN Club, written by someone who is not a huge sports fan but who still adores the restaurant.

5. Big Events

If you’re headed to Walt Disney World when there’s something huge going on, you don’t have to miss the game. ESPN Club will do it up right! If you don’t have VIP reservations make sure you show up early, because seating will be coveted. If you can’t get a seat inside, you can still watch the game. Grab a pizza next door at the Boardwalk Pizza Window, and then take a seat outside. There will often be extra televisions and seats ready for you. There will also most likely be an outdoor bar setup. The Super Bowl is especially fun, it’s even better than the party that your friends are having back home. You won’t miss a play, and you’ll still be on a Walt Disney World vacation.

4. Don’t Miss a Moment

The huge games aren’t the only ones that you can watch at ESPN Club. Inside there are over 100 monitors, with up to 30 different feeds. You won’t have to miss a moment of your favorite team, and you can even pay attention to several games at once. You won’t have to miss anything. If the game is still going on but you’ve finished your meal, head to the bar and send the kids next door to the arcade. That will buy you some time.

3. Sports Central

If you’re lucky, you might be dining when there is something special going on. Sports Central features a working TV and radio studio. You could be there for celebrity interviews, trivia games, live sportscasts, or something else equally exciting. You never know what is going to happen when you visit. If you’re a baseball fan and you’re going to be in Central Florida during Spring Training, that’s a good time to stop by ESPN Club. You just might be able to sit in on an interview with a baseball superstar.

2. Menu

The food at ESPN Club may sound like traditional sports bar food, but it is a step above what you’ll find at your favorite hangout back home. You can start off with Pub Nachos, ESPN Dingers, Club Fries, and more. There are plenty of appetizers to choose from. For your entree there are several hand crafted burgers, or you might want to try the Philly Cheesesteak, Chicken and Waffles, Grilled Shrimp and Sausage, or one of the other delicious dishes. ESPN Club is vegetarian friendly, ask your server about current options. The desserts are also incredible, with delights such as Warm Bourbon-Pecan Brownie or The Ultimate Chocolate Fudge Indulgence. Since ESPN Club has a sports bar feel, there are numerous beverage options. Those 21 and older can order The Espy, MVP Margarita, Grape Crush, or another specialty. There are craft and draft beers, and a decent wine selection. There are non-alcoholic drinks as well. You won’t leave ESPN Club hungry or thirsty.

1. Atmosphere

The atmosphere at ESPN Club is a whole lot of fun. As already mentioned, there are over 100 TV monitors. There is also so much sports memorabilia on the walls that you’ll never be able to see it all, even on multiple visits. You can dine in the bar area (there are tables there as well as a bar), or in the dining room. The dining room is made to resemble a stadium. While you’re at ESPN Club make sure you check out the restroom. You won’t have to worry about missing any of the game that you’re watching, because there are more TV’s in there. You can even watch the game as you wash your hands. If you’re a sports fan, you’ll be in paradise. If sports aren’t that important to you, you can still enjoy the delicious food and the excitement that the restaurant generates.

About PaulaK

I grew up in Western Massachusetts. When I was nine my family went to Disneyland and I was hooked. I grew up, attended New England College in Henniker, NH and eventually moved to Virginia. I worked as a disc jockey, married and became a full time mom when our daughter was born. Fast forward several years. In 2010 we moved to Central Florida and my Disney obsession grew. I now work as a freelance writer and spend my spare time in the parks. Under the name Paula Brown I penned the novels Dream Wanderers and The Coffee Cruiser. I also am a co-author of Dining at Walt Disney World: The Definitive Guide. I'm obsessed with Star Wars, so this is a good time to live in Central Florida. I've been a vegetarian for well over a decade, a choice that my daughter eventually made as well. While my husband still hasn't joined us fully he has given up most meats except for seafood. I was relieved to find that vegetarian dining is not difficult at Walt Disney World.
