Easy Homemade Funnel Cake Recipe

Try this delicious Mickey funnel cake recipe right at home!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ tsp. imitation vanilla extract (imitation vanilla extract will taste more like Park funnel cake)
  • 1 tsp. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups cooking oil vegetable oil or canola is best
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

  1. Mix together egg and milk whipping thoroughly with a fork to incorporate air. Add dry ingredients and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  2. In a high-sided pan, bring oil to 375°. The depth of oil should be at least 1” add more if needed.
  3. Pour funnel cake batter into a pastry bag. Gently begin pouring a thin stream of batter into the hot oil, creating the largest circle (Mickey's head) first. Once the batter has begun to stiffen, add Mickey's ears. Fill in the gaps using a quick drizzling motion. Allow batter to stiffen and edges to become golden brown before gently turning to fry the second side.
     
  4. Allow funnel cake to drain excess oil on paper towel before dusting with powdered sugar.

Notes

Other toppings to try: Caramel Sauce, Whipped Cream, Brown Sugar, Granulated Sugar, Cinnamon Sugar, Fresh Fruit.
