Walt Disney World will be hosting the 8th Annual “World’s Largest Swim Lesson” at their water parks. Â The event will be on Thursday, June 22th and will occur at both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Â The focus of the event is to educate families and children on water safety and the importance of swim lessons and learning to swim. Â The hope is that the event will help to safe lives and prevent water deaths and injuries through education and encouraging safe swimming.
This event is larger than just at Walt Disney World. Â The event has over 500 water parks and other pool facilities participating in the event. Â The facilities that are hosting the event span across 20 countries, too. Â The event first started in 2010 and has continued every since, with an estimates 195,000 children and adults that have participated.
Water safety and education is extremely important, as it can make a huge difference and save lives. Â There are far too many deaths, especially with children, due to drowning. Â It is definitely something that all parents and families should take seriously. Â This event is a great opportunity to raise awareness and provide information.
