Woman at Disney World Found Floating in High Speed Attraction Waters

Walt Disney World is often described as a place of wonder, where fairy tales come to life, and families create lifelong memories. But with thousands of people visiting daily, not every moment at Disney is a picture-perfect scene straight out of a storybook. While the parks are meticulously designed to deliver magic at every turn, the reality is that, with such massive crowds, things can—and often do—go hilariously wrong.

A Reddit thread recently asked Disney fans to share the most bizarre and unforgettable moments they’ve witnessed in the parks, and the responses ranged from embarrassing blunders to stomach-churning incidents. From childhood misadventures to guests making regrettable choices, here’s a look at some of the wildest things that have ever happened at Disney World.

A Childhood Misstep That Led to a Disney Career

One of the most memorable stories shared on Reddit involved an unfortunate mishap at Dumbo the Flying Elephant, an iconic attraction in Magic Kingdom:

“My cousin got his head stuck in the metal bars in line at Dumbo 30 some odd years ago. The fire department had to get him out.

He was screaming. I was mad because I had to wait with the family and it was scorching hot.

Hilarious story to this day. He ended up skating for Disney on Ice for 21 years. I guess he forged a bond with them.

I remember Disney characters kept coming by and trying to soothe him.

I will get the photos but Gaston kept making jokes of using his muscles to break out.”

Queue lines at theme parks can be an exercise in patience, especially in the Florida heat, but this guest’s cousin managed to turn an unfortunate childhood accident into a lifelong Disney connection. Getting stuck in ride barriers might not be a common occurrence, but Disney characters going the extra mile to comfort distressed guests is par for the course.

And, of course, leave it to Gaston, known for his boastful personality, to turn the whole situation into an opportunity to flex his “strength” while making lighthearted jokes. It’s safe to say that this guest’s cousin left Disney that day with a memory that lasted far beyond the fire department’s intervention.

A Truly Disgusting Moment at Splash Mountain

While most guests leave Disney with cherished memories, others leave behind things no one wants to remember—literally. A truly revolting incident recalled by a Reddit user took place at Splash Mountain, a former Magic Kingdom attraction that closed in 2023 to make way for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure:

“We saw an ADULT pull a turd out of their underwear and leave it on the steps while in line for Splash Mountain years ago. I almost vomited. It was just laying on the steps until we were able to get a cast member’s attention.”

Theme park restrooms exist for a reason, but unfortunately, some guests seem to believe otherwise. The idea that someone would not only relieve themselves in line but also actively remove the evidence and place it on the ground is disturbing.

For those unfamiliar, Splash Mountain was a fan-favorite log-flume attraction based on Disney’s controversial 1946 film Song of the South. While the ride had a devoted following, Disney ultimately decided to re-theme it, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure—inspired by The Princess and the Frog—is set to open in its place in 2024.

Let’s hope that as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ushers in a new era of storytelling, it leaves behind any lingering memories of guests behaving in ways no one should ever have to witness.

A Misstep at Kali River Rapids That Made a Splash

Water rides are some of the most refreshing attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but one guest learned the hard way that boarding them isn’t always as simple as it looks.

“Not too crazy but saw a woman fall into the water while trying to get into Kali River Rapids. She wasn’t paying attention in the first place and the cast members were continually telling her where to go but she was just doing whatever she wanted.

She just completely missed the boat when trying to board and went straight into the water. Cast member just threw her hands up and the other cast member working load-in went and helped her get out. It was one of the dumbest and most satisfying things I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Kali River Rapids is designed to be an exciting whitewater rafting experience, complete with churning rapids and a powerful drop that leaves riders soaked. However, the real challenge for this guest wasn’t braving the ride—it was getting into the boat in the first place.

Theme park cast members are trained to guide guests safely onto rides, but that only works if people actually listen. In this case, the guest ignored multiple instructions and ended up taking an unplanned dip. The mental image of a cast member simply throwing their hands up in frustration is all too relatable for anyone who has ever worked in customer service.

Fortunately, the guest was fine, but the moment served as a reminder that paying attention is key—especially when boarding a ride surrounded by water.

The Not-So-Magical Reality of Disney World

These stories offer just a small glimpse into the chaos that can unfold at Disney World on any given day. With tens of millions of guests visiting each year, it’s no surprise that the parks see their fair share of strange, hilarious, and downright disgusting moments.

Despite Disney’s careful planning, dedicated cast members, and extensive safety measures, human unpredictability ensures that not every Disney memory is a magical one. From kids getting stuck in ride queues to adults behaving in ways that defy logic (and basic hygiene), these incidents prove that even in the most carefully curated environment, anything can happen.

For guests planning their next visit, these stories serve as both a cautionary tale and a source of amusement. If there’s one takeaway, it’s this: pay attention, follow the rules, and—above all—use the restrooms for their intended purpose.
