If you’re at Disney’s Hollywood Studios today, there’s a good chance you’ve already stood in a longer line for a 3-inch copper souvenir than for any actual ride.
Yes, Muppet*Vision 3D is officially closing. Yes, it’s one of the last projects Jim Henson worked on. And yes, people are feeling a lot of feelings about it. But what’s really blowing up? The pressed penny machine just outside the theater.
That’s right — guests are queuing not just to say goodbye to Kermit and crew, but to take home the ultimate piece of extinct attraction merch: a 100-cent tribute to the Muppets.
A Frenzy for One Last Souvenir
While Disney didn’t drop limited-edition farewell shirts or pins (a move that, frankly, has fans baffled), the Muppet*Vision 3D–themed pressed penny machine has become the must-do of the day. It features Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and Fozzie Bear — and you can grab all three designs for $3.
The line is currently lengthy, requiring cast members to set up an extended queue. The machines, currently stationed along Grand Avenue near the path to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, have moved around the park in the past, but their location today is strategic: right near the action and impossible to miss.
And fans aren’t stopping at the penny machine. A wristband system is in place for the final 10 p.m. showing of the attraction, and PizzeRizzo — the Muppet-themed quick-service spot next door — is swamped, even though it’s still closing at its normal 5 p.m.

What’s Replacing the Muppets?
While Muppet*Vision 3D is being retired to make way for a new Monsters, Inc.-themed land (including Disney’s first suspended coaster!), that doesn’t mean the Muppets are totally out of the picture. In fact, they’re getting something even bigger — their first-ever Disney ride.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will close in 2026 and reopen later that year with a full Muppets overlay. According to the official ride poster, the new storyline stars Kermit and Miss Piggy at a high-energy music festival with Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem — including Janice, Animal, and the rest of the gang.
So while Muppet*Vision 3D may be gone, the Muppets’ theme park future is far from over.
Goodbye, Sweet Chaos
For now, though, it’s the end of an era. No more Statler and Waldorf heckling from the balcony. No more cannonball-wielding Sweetums bursting into the theater. No more chaos that perfectly captured the Muppets’ lovable charm — in 3D, with bubble effects.
Fans aren’t just nostalgic — they’re frustrated, too. Many feel Disney dropped the ball by not offering any commemorative merchandise to mark the closure. Others lament that the sendoff feels rushed, especially for an attraction that’s been open since 1991.
Still, Disney hasn’t confirmed whether the penny machines will be removed after today. So if you’re in the park, it’s worth heading to Grand Avenue. Say your goodbyes, grab a slice at PizzeRizzo, and maybe — just maybe — snag a copper Kermit to remember it all by.
