Portobello, an Italian restaurant at Disney Springs, closed on April 24th to make room for a newly themed restaurant to take over the location. Award-winning chef, Chef Tony Mantuano is working on the new menu and concept for the Italian restaurant. Â The restaurant will undergo a multi-million dollar renovation of the current restaurant and will see just about every aspect of the theming changed to meet the new vision.
The new menu will feature dishes that were inspired by Chef Mantuano’s trips around Italy to bring authentic, fresh Italian flavors to guests at visiting Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs. Â The concept for the theme is an upscale approach, which seems like a great place for a date night or a nice evening in the area for friends and family.
When the restaurant closed, Andy Lansing the President and CEO of Levy Restaurants, issued the following statement, “We’ve been grateful to serve our loyal guests at Portobello for the last seven years.” Â He went on to say, “We look forward to welcoming our guests back to the location early this fall when we unveil a new concept at Disney Springs.”
We can’t wait to see what the new restaurant will look like and what dishes we can expect to see on the menu. Â We don’t have dates yet as to when the restaurant will re-open, but we will keep you posted as we learn more.
Is there a traditional Italian dish that you are hoping to see on the menu?
