Walt Disney World’s Liberty Square Riverboat Closed for Refurbishment

If you will be at Walt Disney World over the next week, then you will want to be aware that the Libery Square Riverboat will be closed for a refurbishment until August 10th.  The Liberty Square Riverboat is a boat ride through the Rivers of America where guests can see different views of the beautiful Liberty Square and Frontierland areas of Magic Kingdom.  The boat will be completely closed and down for operation during this time.

If you had plans on enjoying Tiana’s Riverboat Party prior to August 10th, unfortunately with the riverboat closure, this also means that the party with Princess Tiana is also closed.  Guests can still meet and greet with Princess Tiana during regular park hours at Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland.  She and Prince Naveen are also on a float in the Festival of Fantasy Parade that is performed at the park each day.  Guests will still want to check the Times Guide when they enter the park to make sure that they have all of the correct operation times and know where to find them.

We don’t have any information yet as to why the Liberty Square Riverboat was closed for refurbishment and what, if any, changes are expected after the refurbishment is complete.  We will definitely keep you posted as we learn more!
