Walt Disney World Working on New Cirque du Soleil Show

We previously announced that La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil would be closing at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World on December 31st, 2017 on New Year’s Eve.  We have been speculating as to what might take place instead of the long-running show.  Disney Parks Blog confirmed today that Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and the Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group are working together on another new collaboration to take place in the theater.  We don’t have a date yet for when we can expect the new show to debut.

According to Disney Parks Blog, the new show will be created by Cirque du Soleil and will immerse guests into Disney’s rich history of animation, told in only a way that Cirque du Soleil can tell such a story. Daniel Lamarre, President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group stated, “We are incredibly inspired by Disney’s immense creative universe. We are convinced that bringing Disney’s magic to life on stage will touch audiences and bring them back to their childhood.”

You can still see La Nouba through December 31st, so be sure to get tickets while you can.  As soon as we learn additional details and information about the new Cirque du Soleil show, we will definitely update here!

Who else out there is excited that Cirque du Soleil will stay in Disney Springs?

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
