Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground closed a couple days prior to Hurricane Irma in order to ensure guest safety. It has remained closed ever since so that cast members have time to clean up the grounds. Hurricane Irma caused a lot of damage to trees and various landscaping. Since Fort Wilderness is heavily populated with trees and wildlife, it is no wonder that there would be a larger effort of cleanup in order to ensure that the resort is ready to accommodate guests again. It looks like Fort Wilderness could be re-opening to guests very soon! It appears that cast members usually working at Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue received confirmation that their shifts are scheduled to return to normal on Wednesday, September 20th. This lends us to believe that the restaurant will resume reservations on September 20th.
We don’t know for certain, but with Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue re-opening, that could also signify that Fort Wilderness will be re-opening with it. We don’t know this for certain, since there haven’t been any official announcements. We are sure that guests are very ready to get back to stays at Fort Wilderness since it is an extremely popular and favorite resort for so many guests. Disney has been accommodating guests that had reservations at Fort Wilderness with stays at other Walt Disney World Resorts.
We will keep you posted as we learn more, but hopefully this is the end of the very long closure!
