2018 will be a big year for Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter at Walt Disney World. The resort will be undergoing a major set of room renovations that will start in early 2018. The new room refurbishments are expected to start on January 6th, 2018. The refurbishments will start in one building and then as the building is completed, it will move to the next one and so on. The current plan is for the entire resort to receive the guest room renovations by the end of May in 2018. The refurbishment is only expected to impact guest rooms and won’t impact any of the dining locations, shopping or amenities that guests get to enjoy while at the resort.
The resort room renovations are expected to include a variety of upgrades. It will include things like new bedding and linens, brand new flooring, new curtains and new technology for the room. The new technology is expected to include items like a new TV and built-in USB charging options for the rooms. Other resorts around Walt Disney World have received similar upgrades in recent months, and we expect that all of the resorts around Walt Disney World will receive these upgrades over time. Disney is big on ensuring that every aspect of their grounds and rooms are of top quality and appearance, so there is a lot of effort to keep the resorts looking fresh and new.
Port Orleans French Quarter is a very popular resort on property, so guests will be ready to have the resort back to operating at full capacity. We look forward to seeing what the new rooms will look like!
