Walt Disney World Resorts from A to Z

Walt Disney World has around 30 resorts for guests to choose from when staying on property.  With these resorts constantly being updated, and with new resorts opening, there is a lot to keep up with.  To help keep it all straight, here are the A to Z of Walt Disney World Resorts.

 

A: Art of Animation

Art of Animation is considered a value resort at Walt Disney World.  This resort offers both standard rooms as well as family suites.  This allows larger families a remarkable option for accommodations.  Art of Animation has three themed pools including the Big Blue Pool, the biggest pool on property, that has underwater music.  Lion King, Little Mermaid, Cars and Finding Nemo are the themes guests will enjoy throughout this Disney inspired resort. Plus, the new Disney Skyliner transportation makes a connection near Art of Animation making this a huge perk for the resort guests.

B: Bungalows

Located at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, guests can stay at the Bora Bora Bungalows.  These beautiful bungalows are located over the water with spectacular views. Offering two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, private deck and a plunge pool guests will feel like they are on a tropical getaway.  Able to accommodate up to eight guests, these bungalows are truly a magical experience.

C: Copper Creek

Copper Creek Villas and Cabins are located at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.  These new accommodations are a part of Disney’s Vacation Club.  Taking guests on a trip to the Pacific Northwest, these beautiful lodges can sleep anywhere from four to twelve guests.  While staying at Copper Creek, guests will be able to take advantage of the outstanding pools, dining and recreation offered at Wilderness Lodge.

D: Destination

Walt Disney World resorts are a destination in themselves.  It doesn’t matter which level of resort guest stay at from value to deluxe Walt Disney World resorts are a fantastic destination.  Each resort provides a unique, over the top experience.  At each resort, guests will have top of the line service, pools and delicious food.  From the beach loving couple to the family that wants to stay in the magic, there is a resort destination for everyone.

E: Everything Pop

Everything Pop is the quick service food court at Disney’s Pop Century. Guests can take advantage of all three meals throughout the day as well as snacks here.  Offering options from a variety of different stations such as bakery, grab and go market, grill, ethnic station and pizza and pasta, guests are sure to find something to satisfy their cravings.

F: Fort Wilderness Lodge

If guests are wanting a unique resort, they can stay at Fort Wilderness Lodge.  Guests can bring their camper or tent and stay onsite with just under 850 available spots. If guests are wanting the camping occurrence but don’t have their own camper, they can stay at one of the cabins.  These cabins fit up to six people and have full kitchens as well.  This is a fun, unique experience when it comes to staying at Walt Disney World.

G: Gran Destino Tower

Gran Destino Tower is new to the Walt Disney World Resort scene.  This tower can be found as part of Coronado Springs Resort and opened July 2019. The new tower has 545 guests’ rooms, 50 which are suites.  An amazing two-story lobby is the new entrance for Coronado Springs and Gran Destino Tower.  The highlight for many is Toledo, the restaurant at the top of the tower, providing spectacular food and views of fireworks.

H: Hidden Mickeys

Throughout the Walt Disney World Resort guests can find Hidden Mickeys.  These are representations of Mickey Mouse that have been hidden throughout rides, attractions and the resorts.  At resorts, guests can often get a Hidden Mickey handout that will help them find these as they explore the resort.  This is a fun activity for those resort days allowing families to work together to hunt them down!

I: Imagineers

Every Walt Disney World Resort has been imagineered to make guests feel like they are immersed in the magic of the resort during their stay.  From Disney’s Art of Animation and All-Star Movies where Disney movies come to life to the Polynesian and the Caribbean Beach Resort where guests feel like they are at a tropical getaway, each resort brings to life the imagineering that went into the design of the resort.   Disney’s Imagineers work hard to make the Walt Disney World Resort a magical opportunity for guests.

J: Jambo House

Jambo House is located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Jambo House is the main area of Animal Kingdom Lodge and offers guests the option of standard, club and a few villas for their stay.  Guests staying at the Jambo House part of Animal Kingdom Lodge will have the option of a savanna view room bring the animals even closer to them.

K: Kidani Village

Kidani Village is the other section of Animal Kingdom Lodge. Guests wanting to stay at Kidani Village have the option to stay at a studio or 1, 2, or even 3-bedroom suite. These rooms allow guests to feel at home with impressive accommodations.  Like at Jambo House, those staying at Kidani Village have access to two great pools as well as amazing food at Boma, Sanaa and Jiko.

L: Lagoon Resorts

Right near the Magic Kingdom is the Seven Seas Lagoon.  Three deluxe resorts surround this lagoon and offer amazing views, quick access to Magic Kingdom and wonderful accommodations.  The three deluxe resorts located here are Contemporary Resort, Polynesian Resort, and the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.  Each of these resorts will provide easy monorail access to Magic Kingdom making them a prime location for guests.  From excellent dining options, wonderful pools and overall grand service, each of these resorts are an outstanding option for guests.

M: Music and Movies

Two of Disney’s value resorts are All Star Movies and All-Star Music.  Both of these resorts offer guests fun theming at an affordable price point.  At All Star Music, guests can see different music icons from country, jazz, rock, Broadway and calypso.  At All Star Music, guests can choose a standard room or a family suite.  These suites are a nice option for larger families hoping to stick to a budget.  All Star Movies is also a great option for those on a budget.  Here guests can experience icons from favorite movies such as 101 Dalmatians, Toy Story, Fantasia and even Love Bug.

N: New Resorts

Disney is constantly growing and expanding and with that are new and exciting resorts.  Coming in future years, guests can get excited for the Star Wars themed resort as well as the new Disney Vacation Club resort Reflections.  The Star Wars Resort will be connected to Galaxy Edge and will be a brand-new adventure for guests.  Staying at this resort will be an immersive experience where guests become a part of the living adventure.  Although details aren’t specifically known, it is safe to say that when this resort opens it will be extremely popular.  The other resort that has been announced to open in 2021 is Reflection- Disney’s Lakeside Lodge.  This is a new Disney Vacation Club location bring an estimated 900 hotel rooms and villas for guests to choose from.  Located on Bay Lake between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness, this resort is going to be focused on the nature surrounding it.  Both of these new resorts are sure to bring some glorious theming, food and accommodations to guests in the future years.

O: Old Key West

Old Key West is a great location for guests wanting a home away from home feel during their vacation.  Located on the beautiful Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, Old Key West is designed to bring comfort and relaxation to guests.  Accommodations here focus on luxury.  Guests can choose from a studio as well as 1, 2, or 3-bedroom villas.  Wherever guests stay, they are sure to feel right at home at Old Key West.

P: Port Orleans Riverside

Located on the Sassagoula River, Port Orleans Riverside will transfer guests down to the south.  Guests can encounter two different themed areas of Magnolia Bend or Alligator Bayou.  In Magnolia Bend, guests can stay at a mansion were in the Alligator Bayou guests will experience more of a rustic, nature themed area.  At Port Orleans Riverside guests can also stay in the Royal Guests Rooms where they can feel like a princess or prince staying in these royal themed rooms.  Located near Port Orleans French Quarter as well as down the river from Disney Springs, this is a fantastic location to stay.

 

Q: Port Orleans French Quarter

Located right next door to Port Orleans Riverside is the smaller, more quaint resort of Port Orleans French Quarter.  A combination of Mardis Gras and New Orleans French Quarter, this small resort is a favorite of many.  A quick walk to Port Orleans Riverside and a boat ride away from Disney Springs, guests love this resort.  Guests won’t want to miss the delicious Mickey beignets as well.

R:  Riviera Resort

Disney’s Riviera Resort is the newest Disney Vacation Club Resort to open at Walt Disney World.  Guests are welcomed with sights, sounds and feels from Europe and the Mediterranean.  Offering guests studios, 1,2- and 3-bedroom suites, each of these accommodations make guests feel at home. Riviera offers rooftop dining and access to the Skyliner. This is an impressive resort for your Disney vacation.

S: Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa

Based on Saratoga Springs, New York, this Disney Vacation Club resort also offers guests a home away from home atmosphere.  Located on a golf course, this resort offers guests suites like the other DVC resorts on property.  One advantage of Saratoga is the location to Disney Springs.  For those guests wanting quick access, this would be an excellent choice.

T: Tower

Bay Lake Tower is located near Disney’s Contemporary Resort and is also a Disney Vacation Club resort.  With beautiful views of Bay Lake, this resort offers guests great home away from home accommodations.  Like all the Disney Vacation Club resorts, Bay Lake Tower will provide guests with the 1 to 3-bedroom suites.  Guests staying at Bay Lake Tower can also take advantage of the wonderful restaurants at Contemporary Resort giving them even more options during their stay.

U: Upgrade

Like at most resorts, guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort has the opportunity to upgrade their room.  At the deluxe resorts, guests can choose to upgrade to a Club Level room.  There are many different bonuses that come with staying at a Club Level room. Currently, Disney is piloting a system that allows guest staying in these rooms to purchase additional fast passes.  This isn’t a cheap option, but it does allow guests to take advantage if they choose. Guests also will receive higher level service such as a turn down service each night, special check in areas, and a concierge just for their area.  One of the biggest advantages of staying at a Club Level room is the lounge.  Throughout the day guests are able to take advantage of food and drinks.  From complimentary breakfast items in the morning to drinks and snacks at night guests are able to enjoy this unique service.  Guests wanting a little bit more out of their stay should look into this option.

V: Villas

Villas are another room category that guests can choose to book at a Walt Disney World resort.  These are located within the Disney Vacation Club resorts and are deluxe resorts.  Villas are where guests can find the studios, 1, 2, and 3-bedroom suites.  In the suites, guests can take advantage of the full kitchen.  Also, when staying at the villas, guests will have amazing pools, food and activities throughout the resort.  Villas are an outstanding option for larger groups and those that want a home like accommodation.

W: Wilderness Lodge

Wilderness Lodge is a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom.  Head into the Pacific Northwest with this magnificent resort.  Wilderness Lodge is an excellent resort option for active guests.  Besides the pools, guests can take advantage of a running trail, boats, fishing and bikes.  There is so much to do at Wilderness Lodge guest will be sure to find something fun to do.  Also, at Wilderness Lodge are some delicious food options.  Artist Point has just been reimagined to a character meal featuring the Evil Queen, Snow White and two of the Seven Dwarfs.  Wilderness Lodge is a beautiful resort for guests to stay at while visiting Walt Disney World.

X:  eXtra Magic Hours

Guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort can take advantage of extra magic hours.  These are additional park hours provided just to Walt Disney World resort guests.  On specific days, one of the parks will be opened an hour early to guests or stay open late to guests.  These hours are fantastic ways to take advantage of lower crowds and thus lower wait times.

Y: Yacht Club

An easy walk to Epcot and boat ride from Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Yacht Club is a deluxe resort at Walt Disney World.  With a New England theme focused on nautical delights, Yacht Club will be an interesting stay for those boat loving guests.  This resort, connect to Beach Club, offers the best pool on Disney property with Stormalong Bay.  With a sand bottom, wonderful pool and a lazy river, guests will find hours of entertainment.  Guests can take advantage of all of outstanding food options at both the Yacht Club and Beach Club such as Beaches and Cream and Ale and Compass.  Yacht Club is a prime location for those guests wanting to spend a lot of time at Epcot or Hollywood Studios during their vacation.

Z: Zoo

Although it isn’t a true zoo, Animal Kingdom Lodge offers guests a zoo like experience.  When staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge guests can view animals out on the savanna.  There are three different savannas at Animal Kingdom Lodge each offering different animals. From giraffes and zebras, guests can watch animals during the day and at night with night vision goggles.  These 11 acres of savanna land will provide guests with a unique encounter.
