Walt Disney World Offering Woody’s Roundup Barbecue Buffet on July 4th

Walt Disney World announced a new barbecue event for 4th of July!  This event will be held at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and is called Woody’s Roundup.  The event is a barbecue buffet that will feature Toy Story characters and fun.  It will be offered July 4th through 6th.  Sarge will greet guests as they arrive before being greeted by the hosts, dressed in western attire.  The room will be filled with rustic camp time playsets, and guests will get to meet characters like Woody, Jessie and Bullseye.  Buzz Lightyear will also be there with his own playtime zone.  There will be fun backdrops and props to bring the theme of the event to life.

You won’t want to miss the delicious barbecue buffet.  There will be items like barbecue beef brisket, low and slow-smoked pork ribs, and grilled boneless chicken with roasted peach coulis and fire-roasted vegetable cake served with chipotle succotash. There will also be a variety of sides including fresh cornbread, sweet cream cole slaw, southern-style potato salad, and grilled vegetables with smoked olive oil. The kiddos will have their own special buffet featuring items like Creamy Mickey Roni Cheese, chicken fingers, and potato barrels.

Be sure to save room for dessert, featuring items like salted caramel cookie bars, cherry pie shots, assorted sliced fresh melon or a Red, White and Blue Push Pop (in honor of 4th of July).

While dining, guests will get to enjoy some of Woody’s favorite tunes played by the DJ at the event.  There will be activities for the kiddos like Trick Ropin’ Toy, Make-Your-Own Toy Station, camp-style carnival games, and a larger-than-life balloon artist who can recreate your favorite Toy Story characters.  Of course guests will also get to end the evening with a viewing of the fireworks show performed at Magic Kingdom Park.

The event will only be offered July 4th through July 6th from 6:15 PM to 9:15 PM at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.  The tickets are $149 for adults and $99 for children (ages 3 to 9), which taxes and gratuity included.  We are hearing reports that the event has already sold out, but be sure to keep trying and keep a look out since you never know if you might get lucky enough to score a spot.
