We have learned that there will be exciting changes coming to Lilo’s Playhouse at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.  Starting July 2nd, 2017, the location will open from 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM each day.  During this time, there will be various activities for families to enjoy together.  Activities will include things like movies, video games, crafts and more.  There will also be crafts that guests can pay to participate in and make that will be special for the location.

During these hours, children that are 12 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a guardian that is 18 years or older.   This time frame is meant to be fun for the whole family to engage in and not just part of the usual child care services.   Reservations are not available at this time and the facility will be a walk in only type of setup.  Starting at 4:30 PM each day, Lilo’s Playhouse will return to offering its usually child care services.  Reservations are able to be made for these services.

Currently Lilo’s Playhouse is the only Children’s Activity Center location that is offering these daily family hours.  It is possible that depending on the popularity of the new hours that we could see this get extended to the other locations around Walt Disney World at other resort locations.

What do you all think of this change?  Would you and your family try our the center during the day?

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
