Walt Disney World Kicks Off Coco Family Celebration at Disney Springs

Disney•Pixar’s “Coco” is set to open in theaters on November 22nd, 2017, which is the day before Thanksgiving.  Trailers have been released for the film and, as expected, the movie looks totally amazing.  We are excited for the movie, but we are just as excited for one of the latest celebrations announced for Walt Disney World. The Coco Family Celebration is set to come to Disney Springs and we can’t wait to check it out!  The event will take place in the West Side area from October 27th through November 26th, 2017.  The Exposition Park area will be decorated with papel picados and other decor that depicts some of the scenes from the the new movie.  Then on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, there will be other activities like face-painting and other fun activities for the kiddos.  The Street Tacos Food Truck will also serve vanilla flan in addition to the tacos that they also usually serve.

Here is a synopsis of the film released by Disney Parks Blog:

“In the film, aspiring musician Miguel teams up with charming trickster HĂ©ctor on an extraordinary journey through the Land of the Dead. At Disney Springs, guests will get a taste of the bright and vibrant world of “Coco” through a medley of themed music, food, and dĂ©cor daily from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.”

The event sounds like a lot of fun and a great way to get even more excited for the latest movie in the Disney•Pixar family.  Be sure to check out this amazing event at Disney Springs while you can!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
